Anyway, the file for the texture on the periscope shaft is data/Textures/TNormal/tex/tile_metal_11.dds.

Let me know if you need help getting it to look how you want.:salute:

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate the hard work you have put into this mod. I've installed it and it is amazing the detail you have brought out on the sub. It's great to see there are still some skilled modders dedicated to the Silent Hunter series.

I hope I don't run into too much difficulty getting the shaft to look the way I imagine it to be. I've worked on a fair amount of graphics for other games in the past and have all the tools needed. If I do have an issue I'll take you up on your offer of help.

Cheers,

I think you guys are experiencing the same problem as BigBangTheory. You are on the VIIA. The VIIA uses a different a different 3D model(and therefore a different .GR2 for the TRA). The electric gauges in the VIIA cannot be made to work. It would take the difficult procedure I outlined in my earlier post. The VIIB, C, and C/41 all have the improved electric gauges though, so be patient and you will get those benefits. I wish I could do more for the VIIA, but I simply cannot.

I think that is understanable SV its not so much that changes to the VIIA are as important its understanding that:

- You start the SH5 campaign in a VIIA sub, and use it for a while.
- The interior mod changes some but not all items in the VIIA sub.

You should just add that info to the first post IMHO so its nice and clear.

Oh, wasn't aware of that. Yes, I'm in a VIIA. For last real time week only 4 hours of game time have passed, so it seems like I'm stuck in this obsolete VIIa type for long. :D

Thank you for prompt answer, and for this marvellous mod of yours. :salute:

Greetings SteelViking .
Find these indicators correspond to the U-995 and the photos are an excellent format (3872 x 2592 pixels) you can read up to the manufacturer of these indicators.
We show the two catches and you tell me if you serve or relate to their work:

I am sorry nozaurio, I am afraid I don't understand the question.

Very nice picture though.:yep:

BIGREG and I worked together to pattern the electric gauges in V1.2 directly from a photo of a u-boat electric gauge. Keep in mind that there were several different styles, and variations of those gauges. I can post the picture mine were patterned after if you like.

:wah:Sorry SteelViking, I will use a translator to correct my mistakes ...
These photos were taken of the submarine U-995, the picture has a resolution of 3872 x 2592 pixels, :o and can be detailed to the manufacturer's name on the bottom of the clock.
I am sending you the links where these photos:

Ah ok. Very cool. I could pretty easily add the manufacturers, names to the gauges. That will be a nice detail to add.

What is the word on the fuel gauges on the engineer's panel. Are they working for everyone?

I am going through all the suggestions made, and looking through the boat in order to form my to-do list for V1.3:|\\ so I would like to know if I need to look at them again.

I send you other links, I hope that works for you:

The main fuel gauge in the DER cannot be fixed right now. Privateer had fixing it on his list of things to do with his work on the .GR2 files, but then his computer fried. It takes high level hexing to fix it.

[/QUOTE]

The hex editing is fairly simple as far as that goes.
There's a whole slew of problems doing so however for some things.
Flipping faces is quite straight forwards.
Adjusting the centers and getting the Normals adjusted to new directions is a PITA!

GR2 files are not the old way of doing things.
They are a challenge that I've found we here are the leaders in working with.

No other Game useing GR2 files have attempted what we do here.
I kind of wonder if anyone see's them as I do?
:hmmm:

:-?SteelViking excuse my ignorance, but you can guide me which is the fuel gauge on the panel of engineers?, To check whether this works or not ...

:DI know of airplanes, but now I'm moving into this submarine and I have not the slightest idea on the location of the components inside the submarine.

:salute:Thanks

Certainly. Here is a picture with the fuel gauges indicated on it on the engineer's panel. This panel hangs between the engines in the Engine Room:
