Mills & Boon is a romance imprint of British publisher Harlequin UK Ltd. It was founded in 1908 by Gerald Rusgrove Mills and Charles Boon as a general publisher. The company moved towards escapist fiction for women in the 1930s.

Ah, I understand now. We had similar publishers here.

I think it's too soon to judge the story yet. After all, we haven't even seen half of it yet; there's another hour of it next week. But I might as well sum up my thoughts on the episode.

I thought Danny's death was good. After all the exterminations, deletions, beatings, asphyxiations and skull-crackings, it's actually a bit of a relief to see someone die in a more mundane way. And it's better than Sylvester McCoy in a Colin Baker wig falling off a bike any day. I'm not sure what to think of Clara's betrayal though; it seems very much out of character, but then again, her boyfriend just died, so it's a bit more understandable.

The Nethersphere looked great, and I liked the explanation of it being a part of the Matrix. The scenes in it were also pretty unsettling, especially at the end when Danny is given the option to become a Cyberman. Speaking of Danny, I thought the flashback to his 'bad day' in Afghanistan was well done. Back to the Nethersphere though, I hope the mechanics of how the dead work in this story are more fleshed out in part 2. So far, while it's a frightening idea, we haven't gotten much of an explanation of how it works.

The Cybermen have been good so far. I like the idea of them manipulating people to be voluntarily converted. It would have been good if there had been corpses making up the Cyberman army, though, not just skeletons.

And as for Missy... gender-bending aside, Gomez makes a great Master. She's crazy, intelligent, homicidal, and witty, all the things that make a good Master.

What do I think of the Master being a Woman? Well, Michelle Gomez is certainly helping me accept the change. I guess I don't really have a problem with a Female Master. I mean, she's still a homicidal maniac with a PhD. As long as the Master is like that, I don't care what genitals they have.

I see jim picked up on my point. :)

I don't give a dam about companion back stories and the way its going you may as well re-name the show - The Doctor's companions and some guy called the Doctor.

Any way stuff all that for now anyone watched classic Dr Who on Drama yesterday? Well if you missed it you didn't miss much but next week is a must see with Patric Troughton in The Tomb of the Cybermen a classic story so make a note of it.

FREEVIEW DRAMA 4PM SUNDAY GOT THAT?

some viewers found the plotline, about death and cremation, disturbing and complained to the BBC.

Maybe in the grand final the cybermen hand out bunches of flowers and give everyone hugs and kisses and everyone lives happy ever after.

Oberon 11-06-14 08:16 AM

TBH I thought that the whole

Don't cremate me

thing was in poor taste and not really necessary to the plot.

STEED 11-06-14 08:19 AM

The whole episode was rubbish.

I'm not nit picking on a bit here I'm having ago at the whole dam episode. :har:

Sailor Steve 11-06-14 08:20 AM

Disgusting violent gory story as I recall what Mary Whitehouse's clean up TV campaign said. Can't wait, really looking forward to watching again.

Sailor Steve 11-06-14 08:27 AM

I own it, so I can watch it any time I feel like it.
