I especially like the idea to include the periods of time where uboat OPs were suspended for some time and wee boats were ordered back to base. :) Very nice idea there!

Perhaps true, but then the problem is balance. If you ask 100 players what they want to see in the messages file you will get 100 different answers. I then pity the GWX dev trying to appease them all!
Personally, I've got an agreement with my radio operator that I only want to know the "important" stuff that affects *me* - anything else he can just file away. Risky, but I've never been caught out: I know my place in the war - not everyone can be where the action is all the time and I tend not to get offended if BdU doesn't send me a personal invitation to Norway or wherever.
In other words, I've edited my messages file to suit me. I find this a much easier solution than trying to convince others to do things my way. Much quicker too. ;) (I'm not directing this at you Woof1701)
@KeldorKatarn: You may want to suss out SH3Gen. Sounds like it might interest you. It has its own thread here on the forum.

What Woof1701 describes here seems to be a new variant of my old "radio traffic generator" idea. The concept was to dynamically create radio traffic from the campaign data, with the help of a program that parses and analyzes the campaign files.
I posted this idea at least two times during the past 2 years - with the intention to encourage and then possibly help someone who wants to do this - because I am not going to -. Interest was nil and so I let this idea die.
It is possible. But with SHIII slowly dying I don't see any serious modder taking on such problems anymore.
And sure it is also possible with hand edited radio traffic. Well this is so much work, and it would cause so many problems if the files are not in sync with the campaign .. I guess no one would voluteer to do such a thing .. at least not a second time :yep:
