The skins that are contained in the final GWX 2.0 download are superior to the ones currently available as separate packs.

This was part of the reason why we decided to release a full new version rather than a update installer.

I was thinking that the advantage the seperate skin pack had was that the skins would change as the date did via SH3 Commander. Wouldn't the skins from the GWX 2.0 install be static throughout the game?

I'm still new to GWX so I really don't know but I'm just wondering. :)

Donation sent......loved the original GWX mod and have no problem at all supporting all the hard work put into the 2.0 release.

THANKS!!

Just a thought, but shouldn't UbiSoft be sending a massive donation your way. I am sure that GWX might have helped a few copies of stock SH3 find their way off the shelves. :D

Very true "Zero 2121"!! Not the first time the modders have helped them out. Thanks to all who have worked on these sims.

GWX is and always will be freeware........If it wasn't for Ubisoft, there would never have been an SH3, never mind a GWX :arrgh!:

@Tool, you can have a dual install so you can keep your 1.2 Career (seperate).

@Lurchi, same for you, a dual install would let you keep NYGM (seperate).

Using the old directory rename trick that i now use in Falcon 4 I assume. But can i copy my career over to 2.0 and possibly continue there from port (as i did when i loaded 1.2) or will it tank on me?

Also.. refresh my memory.. complete uninstall, fresh SH3 and 1.4b patch from ubi, then 2.0, correct?

Tool.

Would not recommend trying to copy/paste 1.2 Career into the 2.0. I suggest you do a back-up copy of 2.0 then try it if you wish but it's a risk.
Correct with the second bit .. fresh SH3, relevant 1.4b patch then install 2.0 into this and you're good to go.
Don't forget to get rid of your old SH3 folder in My Documents; burn it to a Disc or something ;)

No, one donation is enough, even without the e-mail, will work. I am mining the Paypal receipts for all donations going back to March 07.

I am sending out an e-mail tonight, to all who are on the early skipper list. So, watch your e-mail inbox. Get those spam filters tuned to let in e-mail from:
newsletter@deepdomain.net

The e-mails are sent to the address you use with Paypal, and a few guys who were carried aboard by jimbuna & Privateer and other Big Donors using their e-mail address from this forum.

Also, I went through about 40 "Neal, my donation goes to GWX" e-mails today and matched them up with the list.

If you did not get the Subsim Alert - GWX 2.0 Stage 1 e-mail by now, check your spam filters, Still nothing? Go to your Paypal account, copy the DATE of the donation, the Paypal e-mail address, and your forum name and send to me in an e-mail with subject "Here is my info: check it for me, Neal". subsim@subsim.com

I addition to the much needed funds (the GWX campaign has gotten the Subsim account back in the safety zone, thanks) I have received a lot of very nice and thoughtful messages concerning Subsim. I really appreciate those kind words, that's one reason we try to keep the squabbling to a minimum here. I am going to try to answer all of them but it will take a me a couple days.

best
Neal
