Mandelson attacks 'whingeing' EU exit ministers.

Quote:

EU-exit ministers complaining about lack of access to official documents should "stop whingeing", ex-Labour minister Lord Mandelson says.
The Britain Stronger in Europe director said ministers opposing the government were fortunate not to be sacked.
Critics say the ban on Leave ministers seeing documents relating to the referendum is "unconstitutional".
Out campaigners said Lord Mandelson had previously been proved wrong in calling for the UK to join the euro.

Retirement Warnings: Work Until Your 70s
Some workers in London could have to carry on until 81 to get a "gold-plated" pension, experts say.

Clearly we are not doing as well as the Tories are telling us.

Jimbuna 03-03-16 09:49 AM

Well I'll readily admit I'm already in receipt of one of those "gold standard" pensions but in all fairness I paid into it for a little over forty years.

It is my children I now worry about but both have already taken their fathers advice and enrolled in their respective employer contributory pension schemes.

UK going no where..

Quote:

LONDON - The British Chambers of Commerce cut its forecast for economic growth on Friday, blaming a weaker global economy, and said the country's performance was lacklustre compared to the past.

Gross domestic product is forecast to rise by 2.2 percent this year and 2.3 percent in 2017, similar to growth in 2015 and down from forecasts of 2.5 percent for 2016 and 2017 made in December.

Well Gids you can shut down the welfare state to save a heap of money and raise the retirement age to 80.

LONDON - British finance minister George Osborne is unlikely to meet his target of running a budget surplus by the end of the decade, according to a Reuters poll ahead of his annual budget statement on Wednesday.

Why are so many politicians (especially the poshboys) so bent on keeping us in the EU? Why the promise of a cosy bolthole once they're out of office, that's why.

I am voting "out" for one good reason: to derail their gravy train.

Scottish referendum 2? :hmmm:

Quote:

The Scottish National Party (SNP) will start building a new case for independence from the United Kingdom this summer, party leader and Scottish government head Nicola Sturgeon said on Saturday.

She said, however, that a second Scottish referendum after the one the party lost in September 2014 would not take place quickly.
http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-bri...-idUKKCN0WE0QE

Looks like it will be but there is no rush until the SNP are holding all four Ace's.

Jimbuna 03-13-16 07:59 AM

They'll keep coming until they succeed and I suspect the eventual outcome will be independence but the terms of leaving financially etc. should be interesting.
