Israel has revised downward the death toll from the Oct. 7 Hamas attack. The number has been lowered from some 1,400 to about 1,200, reports the Foreign Ministry. The adjustment was made after identification of the bodies. "This is the updated number," a ministry spokesman told AFP news agency. "This is due to the fact that a lot of bodies had not yet been identified. We now think those are from terrorists and not Israeli victims."

A surgeon at Gaza's largest hospital, Al-Shifa, says the facility has run out of water, food and electricity - and that the intensive care unit has been hit.

The Israeli military has repeatedly accused Hamas of operating from tunnels underneath the medical facility, which Hamas denies.

A spokesman said the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) does not fire on hospitals - but "we’ll do what we need to" if its enemy shoots from such locations.

Three other major hospitals in the Gaza Strip are also now on the front line of Israel's ground invasion.

France's President Macron has told the BBC that Israel must stop killing civilians in Gaza - but the Israeli PM says leaders should condemn Hamas, not Israel.
Then what? Follow in the finest French tradition and surrender?

Psychology of Terror: “During the day he chopped off heads. In the evenings he worried about his sick children." What goes on in the minds of terrorists? Jan Ilhan Kizilhan treats both Islamists and their severely traumatized victims. People can simply switch off their empathy, he says, and their religious background determines whether they do so.

The Israeli military says it has agreed to help evacuate babies from Gaza's Al-Shifa hospital to a "safer" facility.

The BBC has been sent pictures of at least 20 newborn babies being kept in a surgical theatre at the site.

A doctors' group says two premature babies have died because of a lack of electricity at Al-Shifa; a surgeon earlier said the facility had run out of water, food and power.

The Israeli military has denied accusations it's attacked Al-Shifa - Gaza's largest hospital - but has acknowledged clashes with Hamas fighters in the area.

It has repeatedly accused Hamas of operating from tunnels underneath the hospital, which its enemy denies.

The charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) says hospitals in the Gaza Strip more widely have been under "relentless bombardment" for the last 24 hours.

I could be wrong and I'm sure some protesters care about the loss of civilian life, but I think the far left's last decade embracement of Islam is because both are anti-West. Europe may be different with its mass migration of Muslims from the ME and Africa. It seems easy to prove when you look at all the Islamic civil wars going on. In Syria and Yemen alone close to a million dead, mostly civilians, including 50,000 children. Not one major protest of all these children dying because it's Muslim killing Muslim and doesn't fit the anti West narrative. Virtually all the ME stays in civil war and I get the West has played a role in making a mess out of it, but who knows, the outcome may have been worse. More recent, Turkey vs Kurds, 50 Islamic groups fighting in Syria; Lebanon divided rule; radicals trying to overthrow the Pakistani govt; recent ISIS rampage; Jordan's battle with the Muslim Brotherhood; Saudis vs Iran back extremist in Yemen; Taliban back to executing 1000's; the Palestinians themselves went at it and divided in rule between Hamas and Fatah; Islamic violence up 50% in Africa with a mass of Islamic groups fighting each other and everyone else for rule. If Israel walked out and gave up all the land in a matter of months it would be another Islamic civil war for rule. Where are the protest for all loss and destruction in these Islamic civil wars if people care about children? Hamas declared a permanent war against Israel until it's totally destroyed and what do these protesters do, join in chanting "from the river to the sea", promoting another genocide of the Jews. Strange bedfellows with the left that embraces Islam/Hamas when Islam is virtually against anything the woke left believes in, so it must just be if you're the enemy of my enemy, you become my friend.

/\...don't overlook the lack of protest from moslem nations against mighty China's oppression against their Islamic Hui and Uyrghar citizens...imho, it tends to make me think the Palestinian fiasco is merely the Panda bear cause of the moment.

In the 1960s, "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" first sounded. The cry was supposedly coined by the Palestinian diaspora abroad and quickly became popular within the nationalist Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It refers to the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, an area that has been referred to as Palestine since ancient times. When the British took power there from the Ottoman Empire after World War I, Palestine was a multi-ethnic and multi-religious area. 'From the river to the sea' expressed a desire to return to that situation, that is, to the pre-1948 borders, when Israel had not yet been founded as a Jewish state. In the democratic Palestine envisioned at the time by the PLO, Muslims, Jews and other religions could live together peacefully. Later, the slogan was adopted by Hamas, the Palestinian organization seeking an Islamic Palestine. Many Israelis and Jews therefore equate the slogan with support for Hamas and anti-Semitism. They perceive it as a call to violence, or even genocide.

Live together peacefully..No doubt it was so, then the question is when did it go all wrong ?
