If I could just mention, not asking for a variant release. Thinking that would be something OLC or modders would have to 'support' so to say, opening up a new batch of questions from users. You probably don't want that headache. Now having said that if there was such a thing I'd probably be all over it. Test it, help with it etc. I could even host it on my filefront page.
For guys into manual targeting this mod is outstanding. And I wouldn't think to change any of that away from this mod. I don't have the patience for manual targeting, and so I don't take advantage of the tools. |
Looks awesome, cant wait for the release of 1.1.6. When when?
Oh, by the way, I was wondering: I'm a pure keyboard guy (partly because mouse lags badly in some views). Is there a default key to bring up the TDC (i.e. to switch auto on/off). If no, I guess it could be done easily with setkeys. However, what is the *exact* name of the action I need to assign? I'm confused with that other button that locks the TDC ... |

I'm thinking of replacing it with a higher resolution one though. :hmm: |

If you do assign a KB shortcut to the TDC switch then it will toggle the TDC auto update but it will not show/hide the panel with the firing solution. |

From all the different screenshots I couldn't tell if it got removed or not (especially since you do change some other aspects of the Navigation map), and I use it for so many different things in SHIII and SHIV that I'd almost be more comfortable not having a periscope then not having a Nomograph. ;) |

That button is actually the button that used to switch between the rudder and the heading (or between the shallow and deep depths... one of those three buttons) and you can't assign a KB shortcut to any of those. If I'm wrong and you know how to do that, let me know :) |
Unfortunately I do not. However, it's not too bad because I enter all TDC data on the Nav screen anyhow because the mouselag prevents exact inputs in the periscope view (it barely works for the range/aob finder).

And if there is much "action" outside, the periscope view will lag even more. However, I believe the mouse specific lag is some other problem only partly related to that. This is a common problem in some games -- but i *should* not be there. Even if the 3d graphics lag (for instance if you move the view with your mouse) the pointer as such should not. Sometimes (for other games) it helps to play with the windows mouse settings. unfortunately, in my case for sh3 this does not work. |
That WIP is looking great, OLC!
One question about that speed chart that pops up when you move the mouse to the right in nav map: is it only me or does it appear only if you move the mouse exactly few mm from edge of the screen; it does not appear if you move it few mm to left or to the right? |

If I want that "speed chart" to pop up, I have to move my mouse to red area: that area seems a lot smaller than yellow area (where "convoy map" pops up).

I think that happens when you run SH3 in higher resolutions. In 1024*768 I never had that problem, but in 1280*1024 I have that "feature" too (it dissappears again in I move the mouse to far to the right).
Personally I don't care about it, I never use those charts anyway. |
yes, that's it. It must be because of 1280x1024 res.
Thanks. |

The one I replaced it with is exactly the same as the default, only taller and hence sharper. I think perhaps the GWX team shrunk it to fit in with the good practice of keeping texture resolutions to powers of 2 (i.e. made it 1024x512 I think). Don't remember exactly where I got it from (part of somebody's mod, but I kept just the .tga for the nomograph - I can try to find out), but if you'd like a look then I'm happy to send it your way. |
