To answer your question, it depends. If you love the silent hunter series and find a great deal of joy from better graphics, and more features than the last game, then yes, because you'll overlook whats annoying, and see the potential this game has. If you want flawless gameplay, and just want an incredibly immersive sub sim, then wait, this community is capable of amazing things. |
In campaign mode, when switching to nav map -> sometimes CTD

I didn't see this in here, but is anyone having trouble starting the first mission?
I'm in port in Kiel, I talk to my crewman on the dock and view my mission orders... we're invading Poland, the English are pissed, and so on. Then the movie ends and.. nothing. So, I exit the map, talk to him again and select start patrol.. He asks "Are you sure you want to start your patrol without selecting a mission?" Well... no. Anyone? |

Looking forward to the finished product...
I think it's a little sad that the game only really shines when the modders have been let loose on improving the stock game. All new code was promised, and we now know that was a rather large distortion of the truth! (Lie like a cheap rumanian watch?!). As for the copy protection/always online, don't get me started!
Loved SH4, but only really when the modders had improved it almost beyond recognition, with supermods and attention to detail, all of which I note they have done unpaid. A salute to all the talented people that dedicate their spare time to this pursuit.. A pity that modders weren't approached with a view to employing and paying them to help develop this game.. really.. |
Stuck in Extrnal View after TimeX
Hardware:
Intel MB NIC OB Sound OB Intel CPU Extreme 4 Gig Ram 512g Drive (Striped Array) NVidia 9800 GTX2 2048 OS - Vista Home Premium 32 IF I go to any external view after using time compression I am unable to get back inside my boat. I am forced to save game and reload just to get back inside. I am also unable to interact with any of my crew with the exception of only one option "I have nothing more to say." WTF... Also, I have NO deck watch when surfaced even is I sound alarm. I can not get any crew to man the AA gun. I nstalled the latest patch and these issue's persist. Keyboard Bindings - ZOMG don't get me started but I am certain a retard set that up. -TheBeast |
* Another time get locked on the deck during dive. I think it can be somehow connected with using external camera.
[went to the command room] [ordered periscope depth] [F2] [next unit... mapped in file '.'] [F2] and I'm in coning tower, along with the watch, 12 meters under sea level. * There's no animation of torpedo propulsion and sensors. |
The fate of U-110:
Why AI sub doesn't use a gun to shot ? If allied AI surface ships can use the guns... |
Hi! I have 9600Gt 512 card, plusz 2gb ram. I have problem, not U-boat waves.:damn:
Vga driver, directx new. What the problem? Sorry, not good speek english. |
perhaps some kind user or mod could collate all the "bugs" in a first post within this thread - with perhaps say
(1) Bug explanation in text only <Bug hyperlink to post> that way the devs may see the bugs easier well they're more likely to glance at a list - that they could easily use elsewhere than deal with pages and pages of bugs, retorts, etc etc |
Sometimes I can't move the periscope. I can hear the sound but I can't hide it.
Yeah, this is a bug, but it's easy to work around. Manually lowering the observation scope will only take it just below the waterline when you're at periscope depth. You'll get the motor sound, but no matter how long you wait (with keyboard or mouse), it won't go down any further. However, <shift - pg dn> works even though it doesn't seem to when you're still manning the scope. If you go above and look you'll see it's safely nestled at base position. I first ran across this in the sub pen and damaged the hull (but not the periscope) as it scraped across the ceiling on my way out. On a related note, the observation scope and attack scope controls are mapped to different keys, and they're active for both as long as you're using one, i.e. you can raise and lower the attack scope if you're using the observation scope and vice-versa. |
