Well, it was a tragedy in a way, since it robbed the opportunity to put him on trial. Of course, many would argue that it would be a waste of money since the verdict at the end would be death anyway, but you could equally have said that about many at the Nuremburg trials. We still put them on trial.

Britain is on the verge of becoming a cashless society.

Yep, another five years of toff boy and Gideon should see the job completed.

Second Labour peer resigns party whip.

Quote:

It comes five days after former junior health minister Lord Warner resigned the Labour whip, saying the party did not have a "hope in hell" of winning power under its new leader.

Meaningless, does not matter who won the leadership of Labour they are going to loose the next election. The public are sick of the Blairites and the Tories have sold the idea to the public Labour created the financial mess and they just can not be trusted.

Iceland did the right thing to prosecute the scum bankers for their reckless ways and no need for austerity. People here in the UK should ask why the hell the last and present government will not lift a dam finger against these corrupt banks/bankers. These bastards are still at and yet you got to give the Tories credit they have done a bang up job making people think the poor and labour were the cause!

Lord Grabiner has become the second peer in recent days to resign the Labour whip in the Lords.
The barrister and master of Clare College Cambridge will remain a party member but will sit as a crossbencher.
He told the Times Jeremy Corbyn's proposals were "terribly damaging".
So were some of Ed Milliband's proposals you bloody moron, and I didn't hear you complaining about them then did I.
This prat hasn't voted in the house of ill repute since 2013 so what actual use has he been to the Labour Party these last couple of years. :nope:

On his visit to Great Britain, China's president Xi Jinping said he would like to try real ale in an English pub.

David Cameron took him to the Pigs Head and Dicks Inn.

I hear Cameron had his kids serve the drinks that put a smile on Xi Jinping face.

Labour has said it would support the government if it delayed plans to reduce tax credits, amid efforts to kill off the proposals entirely.

The most sensible statement I've read regarding the 'unelectables' but it still annoys me to think how far behind Labour are to the Tories in voting terms.

Spring elections should give a much clearer picture.

Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale says that SLab will be become an autonomous entity:

I highly doubt that will save them in the long term.

As far as I'm concerned, Scottish Labour needs to die, it's done enough damage to the social and economic fabric of Scotland as it is. It's been out-fought and out-thought by the SNP and isn't up to the task of opposing them, either at Holyrood or Westminster.

Mike.

The Lords have the opportunity to kill Gideons plans for this unfair attack on tax credits for the lower paid in a vote this afternoon.

One problem being....should they take this almost unprecedented step, Cameron will return in a week or two with a further bill and eventually flood The Lords with more Tory peers till he has the majority he needs.

The Lords has no power apart from holding it up and sending it back and forth and in the end the Government will over rule them and shove it though. THL is a waste of space and time and should be closed down now.

Jimbuna 10-27-15 06:42 AM

The Lords rejected the planned changes and good for them.

As angry as Gideon and Cameron must be they they can't ignore the fact and the publicity it brought nationwide so we now look forward to what alternatives they come up with.

Chancellor George Osborne has said he will act on concerns about the impact of tax credit cuts after peers inflicted a serious blow on the government by demanding major changes.
He promised "transitional help" for those affected after his party was defeated twice in the House of Lords.
But he vowed to press on with changes designed to save billions from welfare.

If this numb nut Osborne used the same kind of tactics on those tax avoiding companies and individuals as this tax credit business it could well have been passed in the lords last night.
But as always he prefers to stick it up the thick sheeple instead of those greedy fat cat banker friends of his, an MP said recently that tax avoidance was over £100 billion a year and counting, there you go Osborne, you know who they are go and get them. :D

Jimbuna 10-27-15 09:34 AM

^I can see hell freezing over before that happens and the largest part of the reason is probably the fact that the present government see themselves being unopposed in general election terms for many a year to come.
