No History Mystery
 

Hello All, Just a few humble thoughts on the Silent Hunter series. I have had every Silent hunter since its creation, I also love U-boat history, and the series as a whole with all its up’s and downs. With that said, I can’t understand all the whining. If you are like me, all you Silent hunter enthusiast have played SH1 through SH4, are you really surprised that patches were needed to correct deficiencies in SH5. Are you the infamous Cleveland Brown’s fan that believes every year, is the year that they will win the super bowl? So when you got all excited about SH5 v1.0 knowing deep down inside, but just didn’t want to admit the fact that SH5 v1.0 would be bugged! When SH5 was release you immediately purchased the game as is.

Ubisoft didn’t twist your arm; you purchased the game of your own freewill. Knowing deep down inside after playing SH1 through SH4 that the game would no doubly be bugged, hence that why Games are designated V1.0 so at a later date, they can have v1.01, v1.02, v1.03. There is no history mystery to this fact, it didn’t all of sudden sneak up on you and go BOO!

What is positive about the numerous posts and replies of complaints is it keeps Ubisoft will aware of your dissatisfaction. But the most productive result is the technical suggestions of modders and Silent hunter enthusiasts that will add to the betterment of the game with improvements and fixes, etc.

These are the people that are well aware of the patching process and its steady progression to a mainstay enjoyable Simulation experience.

You novice complainers need to go back to your cookie cutter gaming consoles. Toughen up, and comeback to the hardcore PC Simulation Community of Veterans, who are well aware of the pain staking process of patches and patience. The fact is PC simulations are notorious for patch updates, are you that shocked?

Final thought, by the way, Ubisoft will fix SH5, the consumer; Silent hunter series devout followers will accept nothing less. UbiSoft knows, they did it through SH1 through SH4.

Now, though the sub it's on the surface (and in the harbour at brest!), my CO2 ratio is increasing (26% and going up). Why such a promising game should become such a dreadful failure? :06:
Where the F**K is the patch they talked about? Does it really exist at all? :damn:

Btw, simply save and reload to fix the CO2 bug.

This brings back memories, many years ago, I think it was prior to SH3's release, we were allotted Boot No.s. Don't ask me to remember what mine was. I had to give up my internet connection being married and get all responsible. But I came to my senses and jettisoned her which brings me to joining again to enter the fray over this topic.

This SH5 debarcle that keeps going 'round;
As for any kind of protective comments towards SH5, don't waste you r time, breath or typing energy defending it. It is very weak to say that it will be up to third parties to make it what it's supposed to be... And yes indeed, it is an EPIC FAIL. These types of comments just offend my intelligence.

As a paying customer I have been treated appallingly by Ubishaft. I want to play this game by myself and NOT with a permanent internet connection for SINGLE PLAYER.... If so, only charge me 1/3 the price for something I do not actually own and cannot play at my leasure and don't penalise me.

Unfortunatelly I was one who LOVES and wants to support this franchise so I happilly stood up and put my hard earned where my heart is and I was and have been ass-reemed by this gam... thing. EVERYTHING about that "Collectors Edition" was CRAP. There is NOTHING Collectable about it apart from dust.

But lets not fall into the flaming and slanging off at each other, we are all on the same boot.

I am very upset by this disgraceful episode and I really hope this does not have the potential to destroy the wonderful name of Silent Hunter.

"Silent Hunter 5" & "Happy Times" now there's an oxymoron for you.

I have tried like buggery to like this thing but I just can't. To change the keys in such a significant way and then change the gameplay to such an extent, to me, means this is Silent Hunter by name (and bugs) only.

Call me stupid, I know you will, but I knew of the required internet connection needed to play but stupidly I assumed it was like all other games where one was required to register and/or play multiplayer but the idea that I'd need a connection for single player all the time defies logic.

For reasons far beyond my (or your) control, if a time arises in the future I (or you) may not have the luxury of an internet connection, where do you stand then? Paying full price (for me over $100) for a game then not being able to play it is ridiculous.

Anyway, Boy is it fun getting back into SH4. BTW where's that gang-plank?

If you're not looking into the wonderful mods that are available (which fix or improve nearly every aspect of the game so far) and spend your time worrying about DRM, it's no wonder you're not enjoying the game.

Not playing when you can, because you might at some point not be able to, is quite silly. Stop being melodramatic about DRM and PLAY. :DL
