no DC's
I'm having a problem similar to Camero, only more consistent... I've played a total of four war patrols in two separate campaigns (US 1941) with RFB 2.0 + patch, and have never been depth charged a single time. The DD's hear me just fine, come charging over pinging, then circle around, passing right above me over and over, without ever dropping any charges. Eventually I realized that I could run around at flank speed at periscope depth, loading torpedos and taking potshots at aircraft carriers, as if the DD's weren't even there. One of them actually ran into my periscope once while I was ignoring them, but again dropped no charges.
If I surface the escorts DO engage me with their guns (although their aim sucks big time), but under ten feet of water I am invincible. :-? Is there a fix for this? I have a clean 1.5 install with RFB 2.0 + patch as the only mod. |

I should also mention that the sea was glassy smooth which does not help to explain the rapid rocking back and forth the DD's were doing. Must have been a hell of a party on those boats! |
Of the dozens of destroyers and cruisers who failed to depth charge me, a few were doing the rocking-back-and-forth thing, but they were a minority. I don't think it's related (at least in my case).

Any timeframe for the new patch? I was under impression few days ago it's mere hours from completion....

I'm sure its been discussed here but I cannot find it. Are the surface cruising speeds correct with RFB. Standard speed sets at 15 knots. I'm using TM 1.9, RFB 2.0 with patch. I also have a clean install. At the present time I just adjust my speed to 9 knots as a rule but am curious about the speed rates used in RFB.

Well, I uninstalled SH4, deleted my saves, reinstalled everything in the proper order (SH4, Uboat Missions, RFB, RFB patch, RSRD, RSRD patch) using JSGME, and started a new (third) campaign. First patrol, I encountered a taskforce of 10 destroyers, attempted to engage, got my periscope spotted, and got thoroughly depth charged! :woot:
Two things were different this install- one, I used JSGME rather than manually installing mods, and two, I installed RSRD (before I was using RFB alone). So, don't really know what fixed my problem, I'm just glad the IJN is finally on the job! |

Adjusted default surface speeds for all boats (credit to virtualpender for finding the info) as follows: -Fleet subs: 6, 12, 15, 18, max speed for each respective class -S boats: 3, 6, 9, 11, max speed for each respective class have a nice day |
Ähm...just a dumb question :
Finished my second patrol on my old rusty but trusty S18. Sank 30k tons each and recieved the MoH 2x. But....when or how do i get a new boat or Equip ? It´s May 42 now.... |

Big well done to the RFB team!!, ive uninstalled and shelved SH5 after giving it a fair run, but just found it unplayable in its current state.
I reinstalled SH4 and downloaded and installed RFB and RSRD for the first time, wow what a mod....i feel like ive just bought a new game!!, great work!, the manual proved a good read too...ive never really touched the pacific before, as i played SH3/GWX to death, but have just completed naval academy and am going to start a new career shortly. At first i was experiencing crashes to desktop, but after lots of installing/uninstalling..i found captain midnights radio was the problem, since ive removed this mod....the game runs fine. The only Question i have is i cant seem to hear the throb of my diesels anymore?, just waves and wind....even inside the boat, is this inbuilt? or is there a tweak to bring it back?. Anyway loving the mod and looking forward to the next patch. |
I started in 41' in a Porpoise class sub in the Asiatic TO
I can't get the AA gun manned :nope: when I go to the crew screen the AA is hidden behind the depth dial and the compass... can you help ? I have RFV 2.0 and RSRD keltos |
