They are clearly two different games, maybe this will help you:

ACW: unbelievable grand campaign, the best and longest I have ever seen.

Boa2: lots of small to medium campaigns. But the new version will have all AI and gameplay improvements of the two recent games. Devs themselves state that it is more "elegant", which I interpret that it is not as complex but better for beginners.

Mind I have not played Boa 1 or 2 so I am myself looking forward to the impression.

Ageods commitment = outstanding. There forum is also one of those rare places where you can pop in and ask questions directly to the devs.

Yesterday I shelved the idea of buying Conquest of the Agean (Matrix). No campaign = no fun.

I love to discuss these and other strategy games, but we should from now on discuss in the correct forum / threads.

There were two relevant threads in the games forum that could be resurrected if there are more questions and personal experiences:

You wouldn't have version 0.8.2 would you, it appears from the first post that 0.8.2 was the last version. The files you posted for me are for the 0.7.1 version.

Yes I know, there's no pleasing some people

No prob, checking the ol' archive now and coming back in a mom

... edit/add: Yup, sorry about that I had 2 archive folders for sh3Gen. I thought I'd checked both for most recent ver, but I guess not. Am putting it up on FF now and will come back to post link in a min or 2.

... edit/add: ok here it is ... http://files.filefront.com/Sh3Gen+v0.../fileinfo.html . I took the old ver down.

Here is a link to the most recent version:

www.global-explorer.de/Sh3Gen_v082.zip

Sorry for this but a script was sql injected in all my html files. I have no idea how they did it and my provider seems to be under gagging order when it comes to this, this is pretty serious stuff.

As I dont have time to remove the malicious code, there is no way I will upload the pages soon.

And thanks to bert for helping out!

Can someone point me to an explanation of what this mod does, not at post #1?:-?
Also I have .NET 2 does this mod need 1.1?:-?
Do I need TatikGIS viewer, if so can I get it somewhere without having to register? also do I need the latest version of Sh3Gen Tracking Room, whatever this is? :-?
This old fart is totally confused!:yep: (Hi Jim!).

It's an add-on which generates ship/map intelligence on a one-time basis (ie doesn't run constantly, it's like taking a snapshot of the intel situation) from the underlying data and which then puts the intel on the in-game map, showing convoys, single ships, task forces etc. So in short it adds atmosphere to your in-game map. It also adds a lot of detail to your logbook. You can configure for degree of accuracy. eg I have it set at a relatively lower accuracy, so it gives me an intel report of where things "might" be.

You can run it to taste whenever prior to starting up the game. It won't interfere with any markings you've already put on the map. I tend to run it eg, prior to my starting up after first save out of port (you have to wait until after that first save/exit), then every so often during a patrol (again, prior startup)

Not 100% sure, but I think dotnet 2 is fine.

You can run it with or without the Tatik viewer thing. That comes up as an option after generating the intel. If you prefer, you can just exit out at that point. The Tatik thing has nothing to do with in-game, just lets you see the intel in a separate map (which btw is v nice to look at).

I enjoy it as it adds a nice bit of atmosphere.

I think the readmes set out a good bit of detail as far as I recall.
