Pardon the interruption, but I have a couple of quick questions for you guys.

I just went out and bought a copy of IL2 1946 and will be slotting a wifi card into the game rig, so I wonder if when that's all said and done I could join in the fun. :D And also, what do you recommend for mods?

Depends what your looking for in a mod? There are a few big mods out there. HSFX is what the Lolwaffles use. Best to make a copy of your vanilla install so you can add a couple of them as they are not compatible with each other. I have a vanilla install, HSFX install and Ultra Pack with Dark Blue World as 3 installs.

HSFX is great for multiplayer, but in saying that Ultra Pack holds its own as well, Dark Blue World which is used in conjunction with UP is a lot better if you want to play offline, plus it has more planes, especially ones which I have just found that are from the 1950's with homing missiles!

If you want to fly with the Lolwaffles you need to install Patches 4.8, 4.9, 4.10 and 4.10.1.
Then you install HSFX 5.0 on top of that, and the hotfix for HSFX 5.0.1.

All clear? :rotfl2:

Rgr that, and thank you. :) I've already downloaded all the patches, UP and most of HSFX. Now as soon as the game installs I can figure out the rest. *waits patiently*

Oh no, not another Amerikaner! It seems the normal people will be outnumbered soon.:wah:

To assuage any fears that my superior American qualities (:O:) will overshadow the capabilities of your German, British, English, Finlandish and other Europeeuhn members, I must admit that I can't fly a plane to save my own ass. When it comes to flight sims, my handle implies everything that it means: *KRASH* :D

I can crash a plane just as well as the next guy. :salute:

Can you stall Zeppelins? That is Oberons quality criteria for new pilots.:O:

:hmmm:

I think I might have come close. I up-ended the Graf Zeppelin in X-Plane. :yep:

Schroeder 04-08-12 05:22 PM

Ah, well, close enough. I guess that passes the Zeppelin test. :shucks:

"Did Hunter fix his game? The planes doesn't crash themselves into the towers!"

Schroeder 04-13-12 02:51 PM

Don't wait for me. I'm on stand-by duty for the weekend.:damn:

HunterICX 04-13-12 03:00 PM

Nope, I only have time to install games during the weekends.

but have already begun getting the Patches and mod files needed to install the whole thing this weekend.

My IL2 is fully operational again.
So we can continue our game :salute:

Looks like it will be a couple of months before I can join. I spent way too much money on fishing gear this month, and I'm going to have to have the brakes looked at/possibly replaced on my truck. The wifi will have to wait. :nope:

Oberon 04-15-12 11:43 AM

Brakes are overated!
Hope to fly with you soon. Although your fishing gear may come in handy after crashing into the nearest patch of water.

krashkart 04-15-12 12:41 PM

My first truck I drove with bad brakes for close to two years. The rear drums were worn so bad the insides were egg-shaped. Braking after coming off the interstate made the whole vehicle shudder. Finally got those fixed and it smoothed the ride out quite a bit. :haha:

So I know ahead of time, is it a requirement to fly with the realism settings maxed? For the moment I fly without engine overheating/mixtures/etc. :hmmm:

Schroeder 04-15-12 01:34 PM

We fly at full real except the navigation. But don't worry, engine management really isn't that hard in Il2.:yep:

Arclight 04-15-12 01:54 PM

It usually stops turning shortly after first contact anyway.
