My first car was a 1990 Mazda 323.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...6662346132.jpg Mine was white though. Nothing special but a nice car. Now I have it's bigger brother a 1992 Mazda 323f in the same colour as the one below. http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...3662343936.jpg I love that thing despite it's age (and colour:O:).:yeah: |
My complete auto history
No photos are mine, but the colours are the same!
First car - Citroen Pallas, like this one but with doors and wheel arches trimmed with iron oxide. Radio where the handbrake should be, handbrake where the radio should be, pneumatic suspension though which was fun with three height settings, and a cranking handle for those flat battery days! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3117/...726dde93ac.jpg Followed by Ford Escort: http://www.autospectator.com/cars/fi...t-III-0002.jpg Then Fiat X1/9 Bertone (great in the dry, suicidal in the rain!), and ran an Aprilia RS125 Extrema (the only new vehicle I've ever bought): http://images.hemmings.com/wp-conten...006/10/X19.jpg http://ts4.mm.bing.net/images/thumbn...1c594c89f00199 Till I wrecked the X1/9 and my mate wrote off the RS125 - he then gave me his... Ford Sierra Sapphire: http://www.ford-sierra.info/history/...n-1987-pic.jpg Ford Escort XR3i Cabriolet: http://cochesmiticos.com/wp-content/...-89-cabrio.jpg This is probably my most favourite car that I've had, I put on a K&N induction filter, 3" exhaust, Greenstuff drilled and grooved disks and pads and a set of Recaro Seats from an RS Turbo, set of white dials. Had it rolling road tested when it was ten years old and it was pushing out 105 BHP, stock new was 103 :yeah:. Sold it to some girl who within two weeks had rammed it into another car :wah:. Back to bikes, a bit bigger this time: Yamaha R6 '99 with carbon can: http://www.dansmotorcycles.co.uk/forsale/r60109102.JPG Then I had to become a bit more civilised with a Peugeot 406, which was the best equipped car I've had, and did me proud with regard to reliability (I put on 100k miles in less than three years with only the occasional oil/filter/plugs/leads changed) - until the cam-belt snapped and valves met pistons and I sold it on the ebay to three Czech guys who lived in Germany!!! http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...d_t56wDkMJ&t=1 Downhill now to Rover 420: http://www.whiteknucklemotorsport.co...Rover400TD.JPG And finally, the wife and I share two cheap, tiny cars that I get no pleasure from whatsoever, Ford Ka and Nissan Micra: http://imganuncios.mitula.net/used_1...7981938721.jpg http://imganuncios.mitula.net/nissan...0053147396.jpg |

:up::up: My pop had one of these. It was a 1975 with the swivel bucket seats and console. He got more speeding tickets in this car than any other he owned....COMBINED! :o |
LOL, me too.
I miss my old pseudo vette, but I have the same drivetrain in my current car- 80 cutlass. Problem is, like the Monte I get about 12 MPG in the city. But the rear tires don't last long... ;) |

Found this one that looked exactly like mine, 72 SE, same black, top, wheels. I paid $1300.00 for mine in 79, this one is for sale for $26K....dang, I would almost make an offer to relive the moment in my old age. I'll never forget going down the road about 100mphs, came around a curve and a lady turned in front of me off a side road. I couldn't slow down, so had to pass, but another car was coming head on, turned off the road...woke up later upside down in the backyard of someone in our neighborhood. He said I rolled it several times...Other than banging my head, I walked home...bout 20 minutes later cops banging on the door.
Had a hard time hanging with some muscle cars first 1/4 mile, but after that....gone. Had 180 on the speedometer and I canned past that several times. I've got wrecked photos of it somewhere I'll have to post, you'll see why I cried. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/u...4/charger2.jpg |

Gotta love the license plate though. |

I wonder why they never introduced an si edition? :hmmm::DL |
I used to have a 1973 Volve 164E. It had a 3 litre straight 6 engine that was wonderful. over 5,000 pounds of steel and this thing could scoot.
My other favourite car was the '87 Toyota FX-16. Let's put the MR2 engine in to a small hatch back and then stand back! It was actually a rather dangerous car as the powertrain could easily surpass the capability of the suspension. That thing was a true pocket-rocket! I did many really dumb things in my FX-16 :yep: |

i loved the big 2 door fords, mainly the cougar but also the T-Birds in the 72-77 years
my car was a mint green 74 cougar with white interior, power bucket seats and center console with the oval peep windows in the back corners. i got it when it was 6 yrs old (garage kept) for $1,000 with 70,000 miles on it and put another 100,000 on it with only an occassional tuneup and new tires. :D plus i got rear ended twice and both times i had no damage yet the other car needed a new front end. :O: something about those solid boxed beam 1/4" thick steel bumpers made it as solid as a tank no matter what you hit. :hmmm: i think it got like 12 miles per gallon but i cant remember :06: |
My first car was one like this, a Ford Fiesta (1980 model) that my father was going to sell but decided to give it to me
http://static.cargurus.com/images/si...554326350.jpeg The second one was a Seat Ibiza (1995 model), a second-hand car that I enjoyed for 5 years (until a drunk man hit me on the driver side and I had to buy a new one. Nobody got injured on the accident, even though the other car was a 4x4) http://coches.cozot.es/coches/es/2010/04/27/103406.jpg After the accident I bought this beauty, a Fiat Stylo 16v (2002 model), my unique brand new car http://www.carsplusplus.com/pictures...9688/photo.jpg In 2008, when I was in Madrid for a weekend, one friend told me that his mechanic was selling this amazing car for just 12.000 euros. A Mercedes Benz CLK 320 (only 120.000 kmts), and I couldn´t resist http://images03.olx.com/ui/1/77/05/3807205_1.jpg Then, 5 months after buying it, a "very nice person" stole it just to use it in a jewelry robbery (smashing it against the main window of the jewelry), but, with the money of the insurance I managed to find and buy my actual car, a Mercedes Benz SLK 230 Kompressor. Very funny to drive, fast as hell and a real beauty http://fotos.chollosvip.es/0/0/0/2/6/6/827.jpg http://www.cochesenred.com/img_usuar...-7319-1-m.jpeg |
I drove an '85 Bronco II for a few years, then switched down to a Dodge Stratus. I miss that old beast. She was a bitch to drive in high wind but I could take her just about anywhere and be able to get back out again. I miss being able to downshift at will to help me slow down in a hurry or to ease my way down a steep grade. I miss the roar of the engine when I'd fire it up in the morning, and the way the throttle would get stuck in high idle when the big freeze would settle in.
More than anything I miss flying down the back roads in the summer with both windows down, the sounds of the undercarriage rattling away over the washboards, and spending weekends trying to figure out how to fix or replace the next part that had just gone kaput. Her time in this world would have been a bit longer if I hadn't taken the job delivering pizza. I had driven the Bronco for over six years with few problems, but within just a few months of working that job the truck really started showing her age. Didn't take long to kill her. Poor old Beauty. |
I always wanted a bronco II. I tend to like big slab 4X4s :)
I liked old International Scouts, too. :yep: |
One of my favorite pickups from the past was the 2003-2006 Chevrolet Silverado. A great truck indeed. :salute:

I know I've seen one or two of those before but I can't quite place my finger on it. Don't see very many of them driving around these days, if at all. :) |
