sub hunt u can download here: http://www.gametronik.com/site/fiche...on/Sub%20Hunt/
after unzip u have the file "sub hunt (1981) (mattel).int"

or u can download it here:
http://www.emuasylum.com/

http://www.emuasylum.com/index.php?p...29%28Mattel%29

after unzip u have the file: "Sub Hunt (1981)(Mattel).bin"

But with both files "int" or "bin" I have no success. but i am not a comuter expert.

Is there any computer expert out there, who can make, that "Sub Hunt (1981)" is running on a Windows-vista-32 PC?

Please HELP. Without "Sub Hunt" my life is:
absurd
futile
inane
meaningless
mindless
pointless
preposterous
senseless
senselessly
useless
witless

"Sub Hunt" I cannot live without You!

Well, if it is a .bin, it is still an image. So you have to "unbin" it first. Or load it into a virtual drive. You can try that with DAEMON tools lite. It is freeware...

Update: In that .zip there is a .bin with NO DATA in it. It is only 16 KB...

Boy this thread is making me feel old, but it also is showing just how far things have come from those days.
Yup Sub Hunt was my first home subsim. I was in my 20's and this one along with "Sea Battle" and "Star Strike" were my favorites.

I'd always though that the Intellivison was far superior to the Atari at the time.

msxyz 04-28-10 12:14 PM

How I miss that primitive, blocky graphic that left so much space to imagination...

http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/2839/pittibattle.jpg

This ****ing bastard doesnt want to start. I dont understand. I checked everything. Where the **** could be the defect? Puuuuuh! I spent already hours with this russian technology.:damn:

@ Feuer Frei: Do you see the defect? Are You electrician?

Ahhhhhh! I have an idea! Lets take a look at the high-frequency cables. Who knows? Maybe I will find a fried cable?

http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/7248/loetkolben.jpg

@ Feuer Frei: Do You see the red arrow? Yes exactly: cable number 4 is loose! But no problem. I will fix that! Where is my soldering gun? Ahh, here it is!

1 Hour later..............:

@ Feuer Frei: I finished with everything! We can try now if our russian youngster works.

You "Feuer Frei", You are the first one to test him (But watch out - High Voltage!): PUSH

Feuer Frei! 04-29-10 01:17 AM

Pittiplatsch!
Being tested as i speak!
http://ajt.iki.fi/travel/moldova/img...ame_medium.jpg

Have you also checked the circuit board?
You need to also do this to ensure enough voltage is being distributed to the monitor!

http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/1765/cm607pf.jpg

Ok Pittiplatsch,
after extensive testing, it would appear that the game is working now.
As the ingame screen shot would suggest:

indeed cool, best subsim ever! It is a nice gesture of the Russians, that they let us play this game online 4 free! thx 4 that!

And here is my personal record so far:

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/3294/morskoi.jpg

as you can see: 7 from 10!
Anybody out there, who reached more than 7 ? (if yes, show us a screenshot)!

O.K. guys: Lets make a short summary. So far we had screenshots from:

- Silent Hunter (1996) [thx @ danasan]
- WOLFPACK (1990)
- Torpedo Run! (1986) [not a computer game, just 4 the floor]
- Silent Service (1985)
- GATO (1984)
- Sub Hunt (1981) [which is still not working on my pc]
- Морской бой “Morskoi Boi” (Sea Battle) (1981) [about the year Im not sure]

Pittiplatsch 04-29-10 06:58 PM

At this point its time to leave the year 1981. Lets go on a trip into the past:

Lets make a short visit to the year 1976:

Lets continue with our Journey into the past: STOP at 1970:

http://www.pinrepair.com/arcade/seadevi7.jpg

http://www.pinrepair.com/arcade/seadevi8.jpg

Puuuuh! Very exhausting our trip. Its time to make a stopover in 1969:

http://www.pinrepair.com/arcade/searad3.jpg

http://www.pinrepair.com/arcade/searaid2.jpg

And now there is the end of our trip (for now): 1968:

Any Subsim older than 1968?

I have improved myself:

Tarnsman 04-29-10 09:42 PM

I played Seawolf growing up. And the Intellivision.
Somehow this thread makes me feel alot better about the future of the subsim genre.

"This huge box (88 x 44 x 7 cm) was part of MB's Floor Wars Series. Indeed, it is playable only on a floor --unless you have something large to put it on, like Ping-Pong tables.
This game is an introduction to naval miniatures of sorts; each player has four very large miniatures of WWII vintage ships (a battleship with its three escort ships) which manoeuvre about the large board. The players also have a "torpedo launcher" shaped like a submarine which fires discs that glide along the playing surface. The players aim at specific places along the ship waterlines. There, slots allow the discs to slide under the ship and trip a rubber-band mechanism which sends part of the ship's superstructure (or gun turrets) flying, simulating damage."

I'll certainly be taking a look at D-Fend reloaded- so far I haven't been able to get Software Sorcery's "Jutland" to work in DosBox at all.

danasan 04-30-10 03:22 AM

D-Fend reloaded seems to be nice. I am just now playing around with it...

Works fine for me. Caution where to install it under VISTA / 7 regarding the path...
