I've pretty much tried it all with regards to realism and accuracy, with mods and so on, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm a bit inpatient and so on, and prefer keeping the realism to the minimum.

You play the game at whatever level your happiest at....nothing wrong with that http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

I play with 85 % + D.I.D :yeah:
I could play with 100% but guys over 40 years of age, like me, could have a heart attack from it. :har::har::har:

nikbear 04-05-09 04:42 PM

Realism settings vary, but never less than 50% and DiD,Always!:yeah:it really depends how much time I have available, whole weekend to myself:06:then the realism gets cranked up,quick fix of U-boat carnage:06:then it goes down a bit, horses for courses as they say, whatever makes you happy:yeah:

Dead Is Dead. If you die your career is over - no reloading saved games to 'save' a kaleun you like just because you can.

Otto Heinzmeir 04-08-09 03:24 PM

I've re-evaluated what type of player I am. I decided i am DIDID. Which means once I get killed I quit playing, since in real life you only get one chance. I didn't count DID's from silly stuff like hitting bridge Pylons and micro islands while at TC. The simulation plays true. A real life Kaluen had no chance of making it through the war. Now that I got my history lesson, I may mod the game instead of playing it. Only playing to game test. But since the weather here is finally nice. Probably won't be around till next winter.

Task Force 04-08-09 03:27 PM

Between 4&5

I play DID. But I use externals... everything else turnt on.:yeah:

Contact 04-08-09 04:52 PM

1. Extreme Hardcore : 100% realism + D.I.D

Arrhh.. It's still not that extreme as SH3 says, but it will be very close to it when I start exploring real navigation mod on my next career :yeah:

Murr44 04-08-09 04:56 PM

Type 3. I play DiD too; will not reload a previous save unless I have a CTD with the current one. Fortunately that doesn't happen very often.

Sailor Steve 04-09-09 01:33 PM

Well, there are times when Dead is NOT Dead, such as when for some unexplained reason the Kiel auto-transit in GWX runs you into the shore and you die. Or when you reload the game and it runs you into the bottom for no apparent reason.

I'll reload a career if either of those things happen. I've only slammed into the shore once during the Kiel auto-transit & only experienced the dreaded "crash dive of doom" once that I can remember. Otherwise I play DiD.

Otto Heinzmeir 04-09-09 05:27 PM

I've actually gotten board with the game. Its probably just tooling around in the harbor listening to gramophone tunes when I get back to it. Or I will go back to GWX and look for schools of Dolphins. Too bad we can't go fishing for Sailfish or something.

Bent Periscope 05-01-09 01:38 PM

:DL4 to 3, depends on my day.

Brer Rabbit 05-01-09 11:33 PM

95% "god's eye" and DID. Goal is to survive and bring crew home---unfortunately that hasn't happened too often. just finished my first career with GWX3 -- three patrols sunk while trying to engage my first real convoy attack Oct 31, 1939. I have mainly concentrated on easy pickins, ie single ships.

Now excuse me, my U-boat just succumbed to a 4 hour depth charging and I have to go kick my girlfriend out of the bathroom :dead:

:rotfl::rotfl:

Paul Riley 05-02-09 04:03 AM

I've just started playing at 100% with the map updates off, which I don't know if i'm going to like,we'll see :shifty:

Bronzewing 05-02-09 10:19 AM

Type 2, but then I like type 2s. I sank a Nelson class (not sure which one of them it was) at anchor in the old U3. I play at 78%
