She's not even politically capable to begin with, like how she thought the VP was in control of the Senate... or how she was unaware of Bush's doctrine/agenda for the United States... or how she's opposed McCain on a few points and publicly admitted it (that's something you just do not do in an election... if you want to win, that is).

For those who believe they could not "hold their own" with Palin read the following and see if you still think she has what it takes upstairs to run a country such as the USA.

Palin and the fruit fly.

A. According to the US Constitution the Vice President "presides" over the senate. Kind of a big word for grade schoolers don't you think? So she substituted "run". YOU are the one using the term "in control".

B. The "Bush Doctrine" is a media invented term that has meant several things over the past 8 years. Asking which one the interviewer was referring to is quite reasonable, unless of course you're pining for a "gotcha" like you are.

C. I find a politician willing to speak her true opinion quite refreshing and McCain, who is an acknowledged maverick himself, has already said that he's fine with it. So how come you aren't slamming for man Biden for knocking another 100 grand off the Obama income redistribution threshold in that speech the other day? The Democrats fail to coordinate their lies? Y'know thats something you just don't do if you want to win an election...

Hehe, it is not half as clever as get-things-done-technocrats believe to ban all "Grundlagenforschung" (pure research?) and focus on product-oriented research only, that under best conditions also is expected not only to lead to a new product to sell right away, but should give the colourful box and the advert printings right with it. Maybe one must not know the detailed linking between Down syndrom and fruit fly research, but nobody knowing the basic importance of pure research would have used that attempt of a argument from the very beginning, knowing that even if he does not know the details of a given story nevertheless there could be such implications.

"Spießbürgerlich", "kleinkariert", and a hypocritic, underhanded "Moralapostel", that'S what she is, being chosen to serve as an eye-catcher only, and now mistaking it (in a fit of megalomania and craving for attention)with seriously thinking to have been picked to save the world.

Plenty of Zeroes in politics and many ridiculous and narcissistic people, but she really scores as a special example of that kind.

"Maybe" :D, but unless there is a clear goal in mind the money spent on pure research would be better spent on tackling more concrete problems first. You try telling your constituents their taxes have to be raised because you want to fund Fruit fly research in a foreign country.

Hello, Mr Pott, meet Mr. Kettle.

For a non-supporter of Obama you surely blow a lot of wind in his favor. ;)

Palin has been picked for certain reasons, no doubt about that. But she still beats the snot out of Biden when it comes to brains and especially when it comes to looks.

It really amazes me that he still allowed to be on the ticket or make public appearances.

That is a side-effect for which I simply don't care. It certainly is neither Obama's nor my mistake that McCain chosed this person as running mate.

That one does not like the one, does not mean one actively supports the other. Although I would prefer Obama any time over Palin, I still would not vote him. This whole clown show the campaign year is, is killing my nerves, my patience, and what I take especially queer: it attempts to kill my brains. Regarding the latter, the republican efforts are far more ambitious. Even German news gets occupied by this show. I'm glad when the whole circus is over.

According to what I read yesterday, they've got Joe on a pretty good leash tied to a teleprompter so he can't suck both feet up to the hips into his big mouth any more this close to the election.

Why don't you just ignore it? If it bothers you that much, change the channel.. instead of RTL or Pro7 watch Arte. Instead of Der Spiegel read Tim und Struppy. Rather then getting all riled up on the interent about it, play a game.

You say it goes on your nerves, yet you apparently refuse to let it go.. something doesn't makes sense here.. ;)

I think that McCain picking Palin is what America is all about. Here you have an experienced Senator and War Hero picking an unknown and inexperienced local politician as his VP running mate.

The voters, or rather the Electoral College as we live in a Republic and not a Democracy, will decide if it comes to pass. She worries me less than Dan Quale did. :D

Hm, don't know. Hobby maybe? :p

Was gibt es Schöneres als in ein Stück Kuchen zu beißen
und gleichzeitig dumme Politiker zu zerreißen?

It's also a question of forum balance. We have a thread to bash Obama, but nobody launches a thread to bash McCain. :)

Serious, if Mcain becomes president and gets sick or dies, she would be president, and considering that McCain is of the age and looks that he would fit well into the league of general secretaries of the KPdSU, this is not even an unliekly perspective. But a US managed by a canary craving for attention would be a problem (and a threat) for all the rest of the world. Stupidity either gets abused by even more sinistre forces exploiting it, or it acts to show that it is itself the greatest of all destructors. Against the plague, there help injections. Against stupidity, we are left defenseless. Look at Bush and the Conservatives irresponsible way of managing finances - even we people in Germany are now financially and economically affected by it like everybody else around the world. And then we should not care for those helping the problems to form up?

Yes but which thread has legs? Which gives substance to my point that a very funny compilation of late night shows on McCain's meandering around a set becomes a "Bash McCain" thread in response to a bash Obama thread. Go figure.

Digital_Trucker 10-31-08 11:57 AM

Shouldn't this thread be merged with the bash McCain/Palin thread?:rotfl:

They had to start somewhere to merge the threads together. You might want to complain to Neal about being mistaken.

No Thomen, it is not something I lose sleep over but as you say "They had to start somewhere...".
