You're just one of those steely-eyed men of few words, Steeltrap. You'll say what you have to say when you've got to say it.

Now where's that cute frenchie in the red dress? We need some music! :arrgh!:

I'm still here veryday as usual. Must try to get a life one of these days...

Graf Paper 10-30-08 02:02 AM

I've heard those can be seriously overrated and not worth the expense, TarJak. So don't feel as if you're missing out on too much. :p

CptGrayWolf 10-30-08 02:58 AM

Well I have another theory. Now, I don't want to cause any trouble. But I'll say it anyways. There's one person (whom I don't even remember seeing a year ago) that walks around the SHIII forum like he owns the place. Posting like his word is the gospel truth and even (what I think) semi-hijacks threads with his own stories etc...
Now, this can be a huge turn off to 'quieter' posters who don't like overbearing people. I'm not going to mention any names, I'm pretty sure the person recognizes himself anyways.
Just a thought... Maybe I'm way off.

She-Wolf 10-30-08 04:44 AM

Guess I had better add my name to this post, and 'fess up, as (in case you hadn't noticed), I have been an absentee for some months ( tho' as you see, I am back now).

Real life gets in the way, that's it and all about for me. Perhaps tho, some folks just get um... bored, and want to try something else for a while. If so, I am sure they will come back sooner or later - call of the sea and all that :)

Same here. I read lots of the posts in most parts of subsim but don't find it necessary to post a lot myself.

Maybe folks are off playing other games, its been a crazy month for games so far, my wallet is not so happy:cry:

Games released this month:
Deadspace/Fable2/Far Cry2/Fallout3/LBP + a bunch of others.

And next month looks just as full with Gears2/Mirrors edge and COD:World at war etc...

Its getting harder to find the time to play sh3, it`ll pick up in the new year when everyones bored with the pre-christmas console stuff and goes back to subsimming.

Okay I confess. The excellent work of the modding guys at AllAircraftArcade has forced me back into my Il2 habit in quite a big way. However, I've just started a Med-based career in a new VIIB - currently at 12,000 tons for 3 torpedoes ;)

HuskerNlincoln 10-31-08 03:58 PM

Im here

I am one of the newer capt's on the stage, but I am checking in. I probably spend 4 hours a day with SH3 related things,

I have recently loaded SH4 and quite honestly the only thing I do with it, is to wonder why it doesn't look as good to me as 3 and what is all the fuss about?

I think that the upcoming gwx 3 will resurrect this game as long as the graphics are on par with whats out there right now.

Why would anyone want to go to SH4 when the first thing they are doing is trying to make it a Uboat game. SH3 is perfectly good, has a great engine to it, the mods that have been created by all of you have breathed new life into it.

When asked why I play it,, I cant say anything but it looks great and the action is perfect.

Havokflight 10-31-08 06:20 PM

Husker, I was wondering the same thing myself. I bought new copies of both from Amazon, loaded one at work and one at home ... now I am wishing I loeded two copies of SH3.
