Top mod! And Top video too! Don't worry, OLC. It was well worth the time invested watching. Even viewed it twice. I'm afraid you also entered the wrong distance in the TDC before shooting though, 16hm instead of 26hm. That may have attributed to the dud shot. But a hit is a hit!
For those that have used earlier versions of this mod, you may have noticed that the '54' degree mark (speed calculation trick with range/AOB finder) is now at 58 degrees. I made a stupid mistake :damn: in understanding the underlying formula of (scope)mark-scale. This updated post in the old thread explains the mathematically correct location for the speed trick. Atleast I hope I finally did. |

Though that probably didn't affect the dud - the range setting doesn't affect the trigger IIRC. I wonder if it would have still hit with the right setting? :hmm: Well feck it, I don't think there is any debate over whether the tools really work  |

If it helps you work out any bugs in future the only mods I had previously used on that install were BigSoundPack from u-boot.realsimulation, Racerboys SH4 effects 2.021 and U-Jagd 1.2. With the latest SH3 Commander. Oh, and I was using low res textures. Downloading the video now. :yep: Edit: Is there/can there be another mirror for it? The most I'm getting is 16kbps and a 5 hour estimate. Filefront doesn't like me at all. |

BTW, IIRC you're using an older version of JSGME? I had trouble with an older version which didn't always "clean up" after itself properly, but the latest version seems to work brilliantly so download it if you haven't already  |
I don't get the silver ring in peri 4th sreenshot on left but have everything else.
Do I need to press some key or is there an onscreen button or switch I'm not seeing. |
This has set the new standard of excellent....I have read this thread regularly but just didn't feel I fully understood how to use the new tools but the vid explained it perfectly.
Thank you so much for your time and effort on this ..my hat tips to you sir. Vader |

I some times shoot manualy ,sometime use crew help so I don't check manual targeting. Anyway around this. |

Download the Set Keys program if you haven't already. Enable my mod and then use Set Keys to assign a keyboard shortcut to the WE Firing Solution command. Load the game, go into realism options and tick Manual Targetting and untick No Weapons Officer Assistance. Now, when you play, you can use the kb shortcut to get a firing solution from the WE, or you can use the tools to do one yourself. |

I do seek the tutorial link, can`t find it.... under sig?

Great work on this mod!
As a testament to the accurateness of this mod, I just took my longest shot in 100% realism -- 3600 meters 120 AoB, medium cargo traveling 4 knots, aiming for the bow of the ship. Torpedo 2.5 meters depth, fast running, impact pistol, torpedo impacted on the very tip of the bow. While I'm sure others have achieved longer shots, this is my personal best. :D |
Checked manual targeting , still silver thing sits above peri.
I can't get the tutorial to play either. This just isn't my day :D |

When you say the silver thing is just sitting there... you did click on it, right? |

If it's a lot of work, don't worry. 103mb/276mb 7.7kbps, 6:00 remain and after a point changing mirrors will take just as long. I think a few ISP's do their morally questionable thing of throttling traffic from that site. Haven't seen many complaints around here though. |

Hi OLC, I too have tried downloading from Filefront - and getting speeds under 10kbps - and I'm on a 10MB connection.... :damn: Filefront has often been extremenly slow, but it keeps disconnecting now as well. Please can it be uploaded to a faster mirror? Thanks! Px3000 |
I am not talking about divx codec but about finding the link to download the tutorial.

hi onelifecrisis,
at first, i have to admit big thanks to you, really nice mod! i dont know, if my question was discussed yet, lets see... in your video, you updated the TDC by toggling the dialbar off and on. Why you didnt use the "Toggle TDC autoupdate" function, which is foundable in the commands.cfg. i use your mod in this way: i left the TDC in automode, but when i want to update the tdc (because i want to put in new data), i switch to manual mode. after updating the dials (new distance for example), i switch back to automode by pressing this button again.? greetz, Jaeger |
