See, the latest exchange is why I say it was a stupid idea to let this second thread continue at the point where the first (pope) thread was locked. Kranz neither knows the limits, nor cares for the appropriate tone and wording neither there, nor here. If one canot see that this second thread was meant as a provocation, I cannot help it.

Sorry for the delay. I was doing small things, like sleeping, eating and occassionally using the bathroom. PMs on the way.

Thanks, Tak.

Avon Lady 10 days in the Brig for "I just wanna piss off some folks." It's woprking. Every time there's a fire in GT I see you standing in a pile of burned matches. I thought for a moment you had mastered the situation by pointing out you meant "Auschwitz", not Poland in general, but you had to follow up by calling Kranze a "fool".

Kranz 10 days in the Brig for "JUST STFU!" and "you'd better ban me coz I'm going to pay her off." whatever the hell that means... it sounds like a threat, so don't pick up where you left off when you return, mate.

We don't like to lock threads or ban members, and we recognize some new members will come into the Subsim forum and still act the way folks act in many other Internet forums--harsh, rude, and excessively sarcastic. The first time in the Brig should make it clear, we mean to keep a civil

Tak took the right action closing the Ferret thread. Usually with a first offense the Brig is meant to be taken lightly, as a friendly warning. It's our way of saying, "Hey, that's not allowed, but we undertand everyone makes mistakes. So, grab a potato peeler and we'll save your seat for you." In those cases, we don't mind a playful protest.

In Dowly's case, he has been warned and warned, and warned on numerous occasions. I've asked him as a friend not to lose his cool, but he keeps winding up in the Brig. And this latest episode was way over the line. What he did is not funny, at all. If you are one of Dowly's mates, I suggest you turn that petition energy into working with Dowly and getting the point across that we (you, me, and everyone on this forum) will not accept multiple obscenity-laced posts just because Dowly gets angry.

I've e-mailed him twice, he's more unhappy with his meltdown that he is with his ban. Let it be.

thanks,
Neal
