ASWnut101 01-17-07 07:42 PM

holy crap! I have been under the impression that Sea Queen was a male.... oops!

LuftWolf 01-17-07 07:43 PM

"Queen" in an Elizabeth sense, not in a Tom Hanks in "Philadelphia" sense...

sonar732 01-17-07 08:02 PM

I concur with Sea Queen!:up::up:

It was put right on with how your defense knowledge helps people understand the reasoning about why they implement tactics....speaking of which...where's my hook up with a job as a contractor??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

LuftWolf 01-17-07 08:39 PM

I've never been so wrong in a public way. :know:

Good show. ;)

Cheers,
David

PS I think that does it, SQ is definately the first Skipper of the Month. :yep:

Torplexed 01-17-07 08:52 PM

I also nominate Sailor Steve....if only for his brillant defense lawyer's mind. BTW did Drebbel ever pay his legal fees? ;)

Well... Sailor Steve sounds a perfect choice, but Seth Rocks as well...
very hard to tell... As Sailor Steve has already be nominated by many of you guys, :) maybe I nominate Seth instead :D

I second that one. The silly comic thread is fun because it illuminates the silly goofs we've all made playing the game. Naval simulations can be terribly daunting to learn to play and it's important that people who are new to the hobby not feel like they're surrounded by people who were born knowing everything and they're they only dummy. The truth is, we all wander around the simulated ocean dazed and confused, hoping we don't bump into each other or any random rock. It's important to laugh at ourselves.

If it was possible I'd nominate the whole GWX Dev Team. But seeing I can't and he represents all of them, plus the fact that he's put in many long hard hours at home and at work, I hereby nominate...... Kpt Lehmann. ;)

baggygreen 01-17-07 09:56 PM

nice torplexed:up:

I believe The Drebbel has not paid the fees and has gone back into hiding...:dead:

I have met this "SailorSteve" and he's a great guy:up: . During the Subsim conference in Salt Lake City, we discussed: the latest SHIII stuff, Dreadnoughts, American Civil War, hot subsim gossip:cool: , and other topics that can't be discussed in the forums:hmm:  . So I vote for Steve:rock: .

My follow up vote would be torplexed, for that great expose on the Ray-duh brotherhood.

Neal would have had my vote, IF the Oakland had won four games...:damn:

Onkel Neal 01-17-07 10:51 PM

To clarify, this is the thread for nominations. If someone has nominated Bob Subguy, and you want to vote for him, hang loose, I will post the voting Poll in a couple days. If you know someone you want to nominate, post his or her name here and back it up with why he should be SSOM.

Nominate the Subsim Skipper of the month

Since Neal is not participating I'll vote for Sailor Steve, for all the reasons mentioned above by my fellow subsimmers. When I was a simple curious bilge rat he would let me share his thoughts about many subjects and reveal part of his private life and personality in postings and p.m.'s. And still, whenever I see one of his postings, I read it. On average very worthwhile reading. A real role model for new forum members and a guy who deserves respect.

My nomination is Sailor Steve. He always helps out here if he can. Plus he lives in Utah.

Kaleun 01-18-07 04:47 AM

Sailor Steve also!

Mooncatt 01-18-07 05:46 AM

i would like to nominate jasonsagert. beacause he is burning a copy of GWX patch 1.4 and commander 2.7 to discand sending it from the states to the uk for me. very helpful and much much appreciated

TarJak 01-18-07 06:19 AM

Hard to say. How about Bigboywooly for this month and Ktp Lehmann and JScones for lifetime acheivement awards?

BBW is always polite, helpful and I think contirubtes a great deal to the community.
