Personally, I'm a single planker... Haven't skiied in probably 10 years. No, I've never been to CO (actually furthest south ive been is Illinois)
Ad RE: backcountry. If you don't have a beacon, don't worry, they supply you with one and teach you how to use it. |

Btw, have you seen An Inconvenient Truth? Pretty convincing stuff. But we're talking about skiing here. Let's save global warming for General Topics (skiing probably should be in General Topics too, but oh well :D). |

Being from NY I suspect we could get all the snow we want down town. It is not the legal stuff but they call it snow. |
Peanut butter and crack sandwich!

Port Hardy, ouch, I'd say stuck. Been there twice for the ferry, that's it, thank you.

Sounds like global warming to me!!! Any warmer and you could get 20 inches of snow. Whats your take? |
Well, I get sick of all the rain we get here so a little snow would be nice, let's say just about 8 inches.

It's certainly good, but I never got used to the idea of oval tracks...:88)

Hey some fellow Nascar Racing 03 racers here? I help run a league every Saturday. Fun stuff!
I love circle, dirt, and roadcourses all equally. I haven't picked up GTR2 yet though. |

Reposting this in case you didn't see it, Corrupt File:
YESSS another skier (or should I say, "snow sport enthusiast," seeing as you ride on one plank) on Subsim! I never thought I'd see another one of our kind on here... Then again SUBSIM.com is not the place for that anyway :D . Backcountry is my thing, but I don't own a beacon or a probe; only a shovel. Also, having never been to Fernie OR Banff, and going with my mom (I'm 15), the chances of me getting under the rope are slim. This trip would be strictly an inbounds thing. And I REALLY want to go to Fernie, but I don't want to lose 2 days of skiing, so we'll see. Also, I was looking at the Big Sky trail map on the website, and my jaw literally fell to the floor. I'll have to tell my parents about that . Colorado is another possibility. In the end, though, it's up to the 'rents. So you board? When you go backcountry do you use teles, AT, or splitboard? I can get by on Teles, but I'm much more comfortable with a fixed heel. Have you ever done much backcountry in CO? I'm a big fan of the 10th Mountain Division huts... great stuff to be found in the Vail Pass/Copper area. I just wish we had more coverage here on the right coast! Global warming sucks. |
