didnt they recently take vikings out of service and replace them with something?i read it in warship magazine(i think).

Not yet. In 2009 they will be, but they will not be replaced. The P-3 and P-8 will be filling the ASW role from shore bases.

Videos from exercise Ilma 2002, F-18s and BAE Hawks operating from a highway base next to a gas station, in the middle of finnish countryside, and from a small airstrip.
  • The kid says he wants to become a pilot and bomb Russia. The woman with the cows compliments the FAF for stopping flights when its time to milk the cows. :rotfl:
  • This clip has a wire landing in a small airstrip and everyone compliments the pilot
