Beery I know you will weather this storm.

But I also wanted to take time to say/give my sincerest thanks for all the hard work you have put into modding, now across two genre. I have followed you since RB and the UOPs you made - it kept me in that dear old game. Now here in SH your mods have kept me afloat.

Wishing you the best sir.

Salute!

I want to wish you the best of luck...you deserve it. And, thanks so much for your hard work and generosity that added enjoyment to this game for so many people.

Beery, good luck with everything, your mods are great and you deserve to get back on your feet soon, and I'm certain it will happen soon!

I just checked out your site for the first time just now, and I'm already familiar with SH3 Commander and RuB, but I saw the "News" mod, and that looks cool, where it gives you periodic news reports. Couldn't find a link to download it though. Got it anywhere for download?

Thanks and wish you well!

my god, i just read this... i'm going through a similar set of circumstances, almost the same thing recently happened to me... so financially i'm on the razor's edge right now as well...

i've managed to keep my internet connections going, so if you need any storage or a page put up, lemme know too...

... good luck, and god bless

Been awhile since we've last heard from Beery....Hope things are going well and he and his wife were able to bounce back better off than they were before! Anyone heard from him?

Beery 03-08-06 01:24 AM

We've cut back on pretty much everything we could as far as luxuries (cable TV etc.) is concerned, and Elisabeth (my wife) will get some severance, and we already got some monetary help, so we're in a good position to last for a good few weeks, both financially and emotionally.

Also, Elisabeth has what look to be two good leads on jobs (she was already interviewing before the lay-off and had hired a job placement service, so we were ahead of the game in that sense). I reckon we probably have a 70% chance of getting back to normal within the next 6 to 8 weeks, and about a 50% chance of getting a better job out of it by the start of next month. Meanwhile, Elisabeth is still pursuing every lead, and she's using any extra free time she has to spend with me and the kid. Not that there is that much spare time, as Elisabeth seems to be working as many hours finding a job as she did when she was working 9 to 5, hehe. Today she had a four hour interview (which went very well indeed) followed by two hours at her old job (she's on-call until her official termination date), then she spent another two hours looking for work on the web and writing thank-you letters to her interviewers. The last two weeks have been pretty much like that all the time.

Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this interview today works out. They seemed to really like her, and if she gets the job it will mean we would actually make out on the deal, as it would mean a pay raise and she'd keep her severance, plus it would mean we wouldn't have to move to another town. So if that works out it will be a big relief.

I'll keep you folks posted.
