I fully agree, one of the nicest warships ever.
As a possible second I would mention the Dutch cruiser "De Ruyter":

Starfleet can build them lean and mean when they want to...

My favorite is my own yacht but 5 mast Preussen always works for me too. Imagine it racing around Cape Horn.......ahhhhhhhhhhhh !

i like the QE2 she is a nice cruise ship

Deathblow 01-14-06 01:28 PM

Here's my imaginary submarine with a aft placed sail. I like to think of it as a Seawolf II. With fully electric drive with contrarotating coaxial screws propulsor, optical periscope and 8 dorsal tubes(instead of ventral) with REM launcher system.

My dream is to model it and put it into DW as a SW II.

Deathblow 01-14-06 01:43 PM

As far as warships go. I got to go with any trimaran hulls http://www.btinternet.com/~warship/Today/fsc.htm

And who can argue with the Yamato as uber nice.

That monster would have given any nation's BB a hard time. Bombers, however, were a different matter.

Sixpack:

Preussen is a beauty. She has always ranked high on my list, despite my preference for 3-masters.

Arleigh Burke class DDG. Best looker by far.

Hopefully the RAN white ensign will be flying from a variant of one of these babies within the decade. Much better tha the fugly Spanish option.

Another ship i think looks really good is the RN's Type 23 Duke Frigates. A good mix of elegance and clutter.

1st- I-200 Class

2nd- Yamato BB

3rd- Ryujo CVL

joea 01-18-06 04:29 PM

Ryujo is cool, not only in looks but practical. No island and therefore a bit more room for the planes. Taiho is my fave IJN carrier however, for the same reason I like the Illustrious class CVs, enclosed bows.
