Oberon - Class type of the first (and currently only) submarine I've been on
Also known as: Thunderchild - After the torpedo ram of the same name in HG Well's War of the Worlds :D Electricfox - A nickname for the F-111 I picked up in a book called 'Shadow Hunters' :D Err...don't think I use any other usernames  |
Bort was a name that was in a "Simpsons" episode when the family goes to the itchy and scratchy amusement park and when Bart is trying to find a license plate with his name on it and he can't find one, he only finds ones that say "Bort". *[FOX]* was just the name of a clan for CoD UO. Right now I'm thinking of switching to either FOX, or Bort. Not sure though... :hmm:

@ Dowly, my Son is a huge Sliknot fan also. He plays guitar and I play bass, and we jam to some Slipknot songs quite a bit (Duality & Before I Forget being our favorites).
As for the name Terrax, it was the name of one of my favorite comic book character from years ago. I've been using as my name in computer games since the early 90's, and it carried over the the net. |

Actually my nick was a random password in 2004. If I remember correctly that it was from ICQ service. Hope that the mystery is solved ;) |

Just teasing since you removed your famous "I'm not from Africa" sig. I was in a chearful mood when I started that thread. :rotfl: |
OneShot dates back to 2001 when I got my Internet Flatrate and started to play online. I joined up with the USVN at the time and had to choose a Nick/Callsign. Unfortunatly Maverick (my favourite Nick till then) was already given and at 0200 that was the second thing that came to mind while thinking bout Rogue Spear. That stuck and I havent changed the Nick ever since. Sometimes I add 1978 or TC (most lately) but OneShot (or short OS) stays ....

Kresge, as in Sebastian S. Kresge, founder of Kmart (US chain store well before the Walmart days).
Back when I discovered Subsim.com I was working in the library at my university and every day I would see the portrait of this smug, pudgy guy staring at me from across the hall. Then I thought SS Kresge sounded like a great name for a ship and it ended up as my ID. Strange but true.... |
Hellcat was more or less thought up when my cat would sit on my lap and bite me for no apparent reason... plus it's a nice sturdy plane.

/Anorak mode off :know: My DeerHunterUK name started after a visit to the States where I bought 1 of the DeerHunter games. I enjoyed the game and signed on the official forums with that name. I also can be seen under the "Dr Cheeks" (Simpsons) and "Moggy" (character from my favourite book "Piece of Cake") names. |
What's in a name?
Mira is my first name - short for Miriam - and M. the abbrevation of my family name.

(Translation for the rest of yas: How are you, Miriam? Good evening from Jerusalem). Yep. Neal will set you up with his standard smiling nurse avatar. I've got a custom avatar as a result of making a small donation to SubSim. What game(s) are you playing? I'm here for SH3. I can see it now - an all female wolfpack! AH-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :P |
