When I heard the shrimp for the first time in Dangerous Waters, I was convinced that my sound card was on the fritz!

Did you know that Shrimp sounds are produced by fast closing of their very small claws creating depression and producing bubble gas by cavitation (like your sub when my torpedo running on it! :D ) so when bubble explode this make the sound.

You forgot 688 and 688(i) I think they fall in between the Akula I and Akula Imp.

SSK's

type 212/214, scorpene joint with lada amur, type 209/206, kilo (doesnt include netherlands or swedish boats)
The Amur 950 really surpasses anything else out there. A nice little SSG for a naval battle or a "pocket boomer" for land attack. There is just nothing else like it out there. :yep:

that true i did forget the 688 and 688i whoops lol

Back on topic: Those sounds are marvellous. If we could get ahold of more such recordings and do a combined effort to replace all the "stock" sounds with real-life recorded ones, that would be the ultimate soundpack for DW.

UglyMowgli 08-09-05 10:30 AM

I ask to krusty the man who record the sounds more files, just wait.

Kapitan 08-09-05 10:46 AM

can he record the delta ssbn subs ?

UglyMowgli 08-09-05 11:21 AM

He never disclose sensitive recording informations, when he give us submarine sound record he never says what nationality or type, just that it is not a french. It is the same for the time, date, distance, depth or the type of submarine he done the recording.
These informations a classified in all navy.
Ask to USN or eventually RN sonarmen in subsim for the Delta, this kind of ssbn where most of the time near US coast not in the vicinity of the 'old world' but I doubt your get a specific sound from the silent service

PeriscopeDepth 08-09-05 09:43 PM

I think we're pretty lucky to get these files at all. This kind of stuff is pretty hard to come by. Big thanks to the guy it came from.

UglyMowgli 08-09-05 10:15 PM

He will give us sounds for civilains ships and biologics to complete the sound pack.
I put the files here soon.
