Any refusal should bring with it automatic consideration of disqualification.

If these stories are true, I think it is grounds for immediate dismissal from the competition. If not already a rule, it should be a rule that if you agree to participate in the Olympics that you agree to participate against all other competitors in the same event.

No one is forcing anyone to be a participant in the Olympics.

What a stupid reason not to compete.

If a country wants to boycott the entire Olympics go for it. Childish nations have held boycotts before. But either you boycott the entire Olympics or a specific Olympic event or you play by the rules.

The first story-the one about the Tunisian Tennis player-is NOT true the story goes back to 2013 and was in a Davis Cup match

The second seems legit though, could only find one link at google dated back to this Sunday(7 Aug)

Quite embarrassing really but GB were never expected to get as far as the final so, winning a silver medal is probably a bonus.

One of the best stories to come out of these Olympics thus far :sunny:

Quote:

Golden couple Laura Trott and Jason Kenny - who will marry in September - won historic cycling golds as Britain made Rio 2016 their most successful overseas Olympics with 50 medals.

Trott became Britain's most successful female Olympian with her fourth gold, in the omnium.

Kenny equalled Sir Chris Hoy's record of six GB golds by winning the keirin.

Another achievement being the fact that every member of the GB cycling team have won at least one medal :yeah:

With five days to go, Rio 2016 is already Team GB’s most successful ever Games on foreign soil, beating the previous best of 48 in Beijing.

London 2012’s modern-day record of 65 medals is now firmly in Team GB’s sights.

Sour grapes I would have thought. I wonder if the same questions are being asked of the rowers who consistently triumph over most.

You may add 1 Gold and 1 Silver to what GB have won

Saw this happening some minutes ago in mens triathlon.

I'm not referring to you but more at the source as I suspect there is an element of resentment in some quarters at how well Team GB are performing (recent German and Australian comments are a good example).
