Impossible to judge something on the grounds of nothing.

Agreed and can't believe I actually voted.

The cast must be so old they'll be using light sabre crutches and walking sticks to get around.

I understood the poll as how we like the trailer.
I like the trailer :03:

I'm lucky enough not to be a fan. Enjoyed the original trilogy, enjoyed the prequels (Episode I was a bit boring though) and enjoyed the Star Trek reboot.

They're entertaining movies. That's what movies should be

Han will probably return to the berth on Mos Eisley and find the Fallcon up on blocks.
Trade it to that Toydarian junk dealer for a couple of slaves. One of them could end up being the chosen one.
No, not chosen to balance the force. Chosen to stick a light saber in Disney's purchase of the franchise.

I think they'd have been better off getting Joss Whedon instead of
Me'sa gonna mess it up Jar Jar Abrams.

Greedo Lucas is laughing all the way to the bank.

the trailer looks good, I especially like the X-wing fighters.

As to the movie, I will reserve judgment until it comes out.

Before or after your money is in their pocket?

Too bad they didn't make Brian Daley's Han Solo trilogy into movies.

I think they could do worse than to incorporate parts of the EU into it, (no, Skybird, not that EU, calm down), from what I've skim read it's got some merit to it.

"And you."

I expect there to be EU references tied into this, despite the EU having been recently expelled into discontinuity, but probably not anything major. I think a reworking of the Thrawn trilogy and the Hand of Thrawn duology could have made an excellent sequel trilogy, but that wasn't going to ever happen anyway.

I'm not particularly excited by J. J. Abrams involvement in this. I'm not a major Star Trek fan so I don't have much of the rage that that group has against him, but I rather dislike most of his work that I've seen. Regardless, I'm going to try judging this thing by its own merits, however little of those I expect it to have.

Oberon 11-29-14 04:10 PM

From what little I have heard of Thrawn, he would make a good basis of a film series. :yep:

That new dodgy lightsaber should come with a health warning user beware of burning parts of your body off with those side bits. Mind you the dark side took a beating maybe they have taken up smoking from the stress their under, those side sabers handy for lighting up a smoke.
