Coming along nicely Mark, the brass etch work will be pivotal in the appearance so at that scale you should be onto a winner

BossMark 11-24-14 09:47 AM

Painted the false bow and wave but will have to make a slight alteration as misjudged as to how far the false bow came out

All I have been able to do today is fix the lower part of the superstructure, due to it being very dark all day (no light through the windows been a very poop day in Leeds) And I dont like working in artificial light.

Anchor chains in place along with most of intake and ventilation shafts, a bit of tweaking here and there is needed.

That's a lot of 'bleeding' in the $$ deck wood from the swastika-what's the solution? Quite a deceptively complicated paint job http://www.navweaps.com/index_inro/G...arck-LDclr.jpg NICE!

Maybe a coat of satin polyurethane beforehand? Unfortunately won't help now. Those decks really are a beautiful addition though. Maybe just expand it out as little as possible, and make it a tad oversize. Maybe a port to starboard line of some kind of sealer before expanding the red area.

Spray on very light coats which dry almost instantly. For the swastika itself use a decal.

Bismarck went a bit tits up I somehow managed to lose a number of very crucial parts :wah::wah: so now I looking as to where I can find these. But in the meantime I have purchased Trumpeters 1\200 HMS Nelson which I have just started I will post some pics tomorrow or the day after when I am on my days off.

Jimbuna 10-18-15 09:20 AM

Been that long I thought I saw your Bismarck on Antiques Roadshow :hmm2:

BossMark 10-18-15 11:29 AM

Yes I can just about believe that Jim, but the truth is having lost the part, I turned my house upside down looking for them , I got a bit fed with modelling and left it alone for about 8 months but now I have started again.

Good to hear. A hobby like this should always be fun. That, I think, is the real reason I keep taking longer and longer breaks. When it starts to feel like a job it stops being worth it.
