A bit off topic, but does anyone knows why i cannot access my badges and medals and why I cannot add an EMBLEM to my U-boat on the U-boat upgrades section of the game? I am in 1939, and participating in the war against Poland ( the Kriegsmarine ordered me from Kiel to Königsberg in the second patrol.), and I have 4 confirmed kills.

@ Phyrrus,
It looks to me like you have been 'retired' from the game for sinking two British destroyers and a merchant before the outbreak of war with Britain and France on 3.9.39. You have acquired too much 'negative' renown and the game won't let you access any screens in port. You've been dismissed! :/\\!! Did you check their flags before shooting? Historically, three Polish destroyers escaped just before the German invasion and made it to Scotland (Peking Plan). I don't know if they are modelled in GWX and I looked for them once without success. I had a skipper dismissed recently after three consecutive patrols without achieving any sinkings and encountered exactly the 'lock out' you describe after he returned to port. He could access the crew list and equipment screens but couldn't make any changes or awards. The clincher that he was no longer required was next patrol grid - NULL...:wah: Bad luck old chap, should have gone to Specsavers... KH http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peking_Plan |
Nonononononono NO NO, no, that doesnt happened. I carefully watched for the flags ans radio communications, believe me. The war was aleready started on the earlier patrol, we had green light for sinking, and I have been ordered to Königsberg. I also got positive renown, not much though.
But I found out WHY I couldnt access any on the above. Because it was not my HOMEBASE. Wilhelmshaven is my homebase, and as soon as Germany captured Poland and I've been again relocated to homeport, I could access the mentioned features. |

So on great advice from Paulebaer1979 I changed the basic CFG in SH3 and in SHCommander to make sure
Excellent results I must say...very happy now...9 Officers all from Das Boot...a most excellent share Paulebaer1979:up: http://imageshack.com/a/img580/6315/d2g4.png |
Kielhauler, you are right, it must be something that I also noticed, that the INGAME date doesnt corespond to SHCommander Date. If I mod something in basic.cfg then I have to do it also in ShCommander?
Back to my original question: i still have weather problems, check the photo: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7330 Check the report I just get from Watch-officer: Clouds overcast, precipitation heavy, visibility poor. Wind speed: 15m/s, which should be stromy. Check the sky. Does it feel right? |

@ Phyrrus,
No, it doesn't look right but I get that from time to time as well - and I don't mess with my .cfg files or anything other than add proven mods. Look on the bright side. Your navigator is below deck in the gloomy control room and you're up on the bridge catching some rays. He's just being a sour-puss and wishes he was captain. It looks like a lovely day where you are. Stop engines and give the crew leave to go swimming. A barbeque on the wintergarden would be a great way to raise morale and then just watch the sunset to end the day. KH Ps - it's a glitch, we all get it. Nothing to worry about. |

Super help I am very happy :subsim: |

:har: actually I was feeling sick and crowded in the command room, asked for a weather report, and that silly watchman gave me this report. So I went up to check his story, and he was lying. I wont throw him overboard because I need him, so I better follow your advice and make that barbecue. Smoking is allowed as well.... :) |
Johnfb, what mod are you using for crew? I can see on that picture you shared that you have the damage control officer "mounted" in place of sonar guy, how did you do that? Do you also have some command shortcuts related to him?

And your sarcasic response tells me you are a child... KH |
No, I am not a child, just acting like one.
I didnt meant to be sarcastic (this time only), I was enjoying the language-humour. What you said translated trough my language (and my mind) sounded very funny. Actually I thought you were being sarcastic, and I liked it so much that I started looking for your other posts, wich led me to your very interesting almost-novel comment about inexperienced seamen in your father's ship which sunk, and I was thinking "respect" for the way you told a personal story to underline a fact about wartime POs and seamen. As you can see, I meant no offense, on the contrary :).. But, since english is not my native tongue, my way of expressing myself is not always clear to many, i already noticed that. i'm translating everything form hungarian, and that is a tottally other structure of language. On a side note: i start form the presumtion that everybody, who is spending whole nights on forums then playing hours with a game like SH3 (everybody like me), MUST BE sarcastic, ironic and every other *ic, because otherwise we would not survive this world. I speak firstly for myself, but I like to think that there are others like me out there. |
