THe band in the clip I posted is The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band aka THe Bonzo Dog Band aka The Bonzos. The were around in the late 60s and early 70s. IIRC, they also had a TV show in Britain, a childen's show, I believe. They put out about a half dozen or so albums, all with amazingly demented humor. Since your wife's friend is a musician, she might like this:

THe Bonzo's probable high point came when Paul McCartney (the Beatles were all big Bonzo fans) produced a hit single for the Bonzos, "Im The Urban Spaceman" written by Neil Innes who later went on to become a member of and the main songwriter for Monty Python. The Bonzos were really the precursors of Monty Python and one of their later performances included some of the soon to become Pythons:
