It pays not to lose control of your vehicle in DC. They'll shoot you dead for it.:-?

I think it may be specific to German and Polish Catholics. Anyway depending on various factors most types white flowers might get you an innocent laugh or a vase smacked upon your head. Kind of funny how in one culture something can be offensive but not in another. |

That is interesting. I would have never associated white flowers, or anything white for that matter, with death. But yeah, i've been around enough to know about odd social quirks; I've just never been to Europe. Always PACAF or SOUTHCOM. |
I heard that there are some interesting cultural differences in Korea.
You might have missed by edit I think the white flower bit is more specific to German and Polish Catholics. |
Already seeing people complain because there was a kid in the car and the police opened fire.
Hello! Public safety do these people want a person whose intent is unknown just running around endangering everyone else? The driver ran over cops thus using her car as a deadly weapon and not to mention endangering the kid in the car anyway. In this case you have no choice but to be as careful as possible and aim with care so that the kid and who knows how many other people get hurt by the actions of the suspect.Sure you do not want to hurt innocent people but you also do not want to cause an innocent person to get harmed by inaction. I mean sometimes cops do have to use deadly force for a very legitimate reason. |

Yeah, there are, but it's been awhile so it's not all fresh in the noggen. Some stuff I probably did so reguarly it doesn't even register anymore. Aside from things related to body or verbal language, the only specific example i can give you off the top of my head is soap. I have only heard this, because I was never invited over to someones house, but I have heard that if your ever invited over to someones home, bring some detergent or soap that makes a lot of bubbles. Bubbles being associated with happy things or something like that. Oh yeah, i just remembered something else. Never saw it myself, but I have heard from female Airman that used Korean public toilets that Korean women toss all the TP into a corner for some reason rather then flush it. Kinda disgusting, but from a country that has open sewage ditch's (aka Binjo ditch), hardly surprising. They also don't have toilets like ours, They don't sit, they squat. Floor commodes. I've seen (and used) those first hand. I've heard they're actually fairly common in many parts of the world, but I can't say for sure. As an aside, if you were to ask me about central/south American people, i can't tell you much except that it's very third world, buddy of mine was propositioned for his boots, kids "mow the lawn" around their huts with machete's, and most people seem like their of mayan decent. Also humid. Think steam oven. Not fun. |

When I give dead flowers to The Frau, I always get her white roses. White roses are a symbol of purity. I like it more then the cliche red roses.

But as always, the farther you got away from an American base, the closer you got to the real culture. I was all up and down that penninsula from TDY's to "Turn and burns". Drove much of it by myself even though i was supposed to have a partner. |

Also a factor that tends to get overlooked is that you should give the type and color that........ ..... ... Ah you sly devil you dead flowers.:yep: My wife usually likes it most to receive a free trip some place without me tagging along. |
To be fair, that is how most people in Connecticut drive, or at least the ones who own sports cars and pickup trucks do.
She probably saw a walk signal turn on and slammed on the accelerator before the pedestrian could start walking. |
