I kinda like the grief, I have a belief that the greatest thinkers were ones who went against the grain.

Ya know, like Oppenhiemer, Einstein, Enrico Fermi, soopaman2, all geniuses who worked against the grain for positive results.:timeout::haha::yeah:

(all but one worked on the nuclear bomb) lol

True, but with one exception I bet not one of them ever said "I know I'm gonna get grief for this, but..." :O:

I'm currently reading a book titled The Copernican Revolution, about Copernicus, obviously, and the impact he had on the way we look at the univers.e

That's what I meant
We don't have any politics in that field.

A small update from Sweden

More immigrant dominated Stockholm suburbs are burning tonight and fire men and rescue personnel are being attacked (as usual, I'm afraid). The fire brigade has told the press that they have to leave some fires burning because of the attacks against their personnel.

Some cars are burning in Malmö (in southern Sweden) too, but so far there are no reports of full scale riots there.

The press cites high unemployment rates and a dismal looking future as the main causes for these events. However, Värmland, Dalarna, Norrland etc also suffer from high unemployment with little hopes of future improvement, but the people there, who are ethnically Swedish, have not set fire to their cities or attacked rescue personnel. So, unemployment is not the cause of the riots.

(I used to be sarcastical against people who voted for the immigration critical Sweden Democrats. I deeply apologize for this. These events and those in 2010 have served me the humble pie. Now I fully understand everyone who voted for SD.)

edit: Just as I hit the Post button, I hear this from the expressen.se live stream:
- 3 more suburbs are burning
- a school has been torched
- fire and rescue personnel are retreating from several fires due to attacks
- urban transit system is shut down due to attacks
- while the on site reporter talks, someone behind the him shouts "Allahu akbar!" and throws a bomb that sets fire to a car
- the national broadcast's (SVT) car has been destroyed

So you have.
1. local football hooligans
2. a pair of nuts
3. inner city riots

So is it....
A) beware the wolves overrunning europe.
B) business as normal.
History suggests that B is the only answer.

Please confirm me only this: a newspaper here reported that the person shoot by the sweden police was portuguese, named Lenine Relvas-Martins (:haha:), emigrant and living in Sweden since 1975!
If so, I only want to say that: there is always a portuguese anywhere!

Very sad times indeed.

I've always despised political correctness and all the virtue words that are used to try and make it sound better when it shouldn't, its a very annoying form of propaganda. It really gets on my nerves how incredibly sensitive people act (yes, act) to further their ideas. When the illegal immigrants began pouring into this country, and were being labeled correctly as illegal immigrants, they tried to omit the truth in the label by saying "undocumented". You aren't undocumented, because that would imply that you've already begun the process of becoming a citizen or have already gone through the process and are waiting on documentation, when instead many are just coming, illegally, and not attempting to gain citizenship.

Political correctness is revolting and sad for such a "liberated media", one thats supposed to be the most open media in modern times, when really they curtail so readily to societal discomfort and political correctness.

That's what leftist liberals do in America - they create social disorder and civil unrest to grow the size of government to tyrannical proportions to handle these problems it created. Then the government comes in and pours fuel on the fire to make matters worse thereby validating itself as needing to grow even more to get control over the issue(s). Leftist liberals do this because they trust government and feel safe having a big government controlling the population. Conservative governments look to shrink the size of government and to allow the people to govern themselves on a much smaller scale which gives people the sense they have control over the federal government. The people of America didn't want Obamacare. It was rejected but that wicked witch from the west, Nancy Pelosi, flew on her broom to D.C. to ram it down America's throat - not knowing what the hell was even in the bill. Now it's become law and most still don't have a clue what's in the bill and all Obama can say is we will deal with the issues as they arise. Well that's too late bozo - especially when someone's a cancer patient with a few months to live and doesn't have time for Washington to fart around with correcting the problems in the bill. But does Obama care about that? Nope. He only cares that 30 million deadbeats and illegals in America have access to free medical care at the cost of the tax payers.

Pretty good.

Our news are shining again, that is can't decide what they want to say. The riots continue, but apparently now it's the far right causing trouble in there. Uh, what?
