"Lone Watie: Get ready, little lady. H*ll is coming to breakfast." - I love that movie.

I have a head light switch on my 07 Suzuki, that i did myself. Got tired of annoying my neighbors late at night, letting the bike warm up before heading into work. I get asked about it all the time by other riders. Of course, i get a little embrassed when they ask me "what is that LED for?". "Oh that?, it's an idiot light to let me know my headlight is off."

I'm glad you said many cars, and not all cars otherwise you'd be ruling out the Escort Cossie. :o

IMO 1992 was the real killer for cars - the catalytic convert becoming mandatory in the UK.

I like the story, and yes, I think the officer acted very professionally. In NJ though, you could have received a citation for your MC headlight not working. NJ law mandates that MC headlights must be on during the day as well as at night.

Would that include "not turning it on?" Oh, wait. You said it MUST be ON:D
A man got to be crazy to ride a two wheeler without turning on the headlight for visibility.:dead:<-- other drivers are blind like me.

No worries, I'm a much better driver than those drivers who cannot see me. I can manage for both of us :)

Ride like they don't see you. Because they don't :03:

Very true. I still have my MC license, though I haven't ridden in over 20 years. In my experience (professionally speaking), I have found bikers to be among the safest drivers on the road, and much safer than motor vehicle operators. (Plug) My son works in NYC for Harley Davidson where he is employed as a Master Technician.:smug:

Funny you say that. My experience is just the opposite. Much of my career, part of the territory I covered was a rural loop that was a favorite for "crotch rockets." They would drive dangerously and end up wrecking. For those in the city, I can say my experience is the same as your's. Regardless, motorcycles are more difficult to see and we need to keep an eye out for them.
