Steve, maybe you should stop paraprhasing my words against me Mr. Prosecutor. I already realized this is a "one way flow". You're stating everyone can express their opininion, but if that opinion doesn't tickle yours toes (or any other members that you know), you're trying to feel that person as if he was some kind of outlaw :haha:.

Anyway, have a nice day :|\\

Paraphrase? Everything I pointed out was a quote from you.

Everybody who worked on GWX. You said they left it unfinished, and when they said you weren't their boss you called them unprofessional.

So you now insult them again, and say that since they disagree with you they need a psychologist? Maybe you should look at the way you think and post. Yes, you have insulted many people, and it needs to stop.

Maybe you should re-read what you've written.

Good post, Sailor Steve.

You know, after having spent many years at flight sim forums and now surfing the very interesting threads here at Subsim, I am constantly amazed at the number of people who complain (in one fashion or another) about the __ fill in the blank __ problems with this or that FREE software or mods. Strangely enough, on the payware site forums you usually find only praise or very little gripping (and often followed by banning after the first gripe).

My take on this is: if you have the skills at modding and think you can do it better then prove it and produce some. If you don't, then be grateful for the often very high quality products offered for FREE. If you still have an issue with a mod or product, at least be courteous and explain why you think there's an issue (and maybe offer a solution).

Chill out. Is is really worth fighting over a matter from 2009? Let sleeping dogs lie and all that.

Agreed. Wasn't expecting such agonizing reactions from some members to my reasoning. Some Taboo questions were touched I believe :)

Just to throw a couple extra pennies in the pile here, the GWX dev team has produced a precious gem that was given to us as a gift like a milestone in the times and lives of our SH3 experience. As a wonderful addition to a subsim that each of us have already enjoyed in our own way. It is hard for me to grasp the concept that I will never enjoy a mod quite like the GWX again. It is with a heavy heart that come to terms with this reality.

However...

To have a GWX mod in every installment of the Silent Hunter franchise would perhaps, in my opinion, water down the value of this terrific gem- this grey wolves masterpiece. The fact that it belongs to Silent Hunter III and nothing else makes it a wonderful rarity, and we were here to bare witness to it! Revere in this, meine Kapitane! For we where ones who sailed under the vision and craftsmanship of the grey wolves, and how they had seen the world of SH3. What is even more so is that they let us sail our boats from our pens and docks, onward into what it was supposed to be. But, to have this perfect diamond in every installment would be to turn it into nothing more but a cheap piece of glass. And I prefer diamonds on my Knights Cross!!

Happy Hunting!!:Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

The GWX team gave us something awesome, they did their thing and rode off in to the sunset with their heads rightfully held high. It's out there, freely offered, for anyone to get. To say anything other than "thank you" is really kind of disrespectful to them.

It is also kind of disrespectful to the other modders out there. I'm a GWX fan, but there are some folks around operating with knowledge that the GWX team didn't have and producing some stunning (looking at least, I don't know how they play, yet) mods that I want to try.

@AllenZ1Sgt;2000279: Well Top... those are my thoughts too.

To the productive members of Subsim: A long time ago here, a very unpleasant person once told me that, I was full of crap and that if I didn't like things the way they were... I could go to blazes and start my own project.

So I did exactly that, and along with a great many awesome people, we made our environment better. That very unpleasant person ended up having to eat his words over and over.

If the GWX project has to suffer being called a "legend" in the form of an insult, well I think that is fine. It smells like jealousy anyway.

We all have the same freedom to change our surroundings in a positive way if we find them to be unacceptable. There are people right here who do exactly that every day... in big ways and in small ways... without being jerks.

If you don't like something about life... stop complaining, find a little fire, and do something about it.:shucks:

The way I see this is that GWX is open prey to anyone feeling energetic enough to start using it as a base for a new supermod. Its use is not restricted, is it? The job is huge and only possible for a team of modders.

Personally I don't see much need for a new version of GWX as NYGM, LSH and HAHD are already being developed.

I called GWX a legend because of dissapointment it does not last anymore. Why do you ppl keep getting my point faulty ?
Jealously insult ? Perhaps you mixed me with the wrong person you've used to know, but I'm really not that one if you ask.

It makes me mad there is no more GWX it makes me feel sad that only feelings that is left from this project is memories of excitement of waiting it to be released. I love GWX and I will never switch to any other supermod, because I also grew as one from the very first version of GWX. How can you fail to understand this so badly, man ?

Possibly it's a language problem. Where are you from?

Possibly because of the way it was said. I can understand expressing regret that it's over and wishing that it was still being developed, but it really did sound to me like you were blaming them for not still working on it, and it really did sound like insults.

If that's not the case, then I'll not only let it go, but I'll apologize for misunderstanding. But you also need to let it go. It's not going to happen. :sunny:

I need to consult my lawyer before I can post anything back to ya, cuz anything I'll say might be twisted against me :haha:

Troublous_Haze 01-28-13 01:17 PM

I want to believe all missunderstandings had fainted away finally, cuz at least one understood me correctly. :Kaleun_Applaud: To that I'll raise my pint of :Kaleun_Cheers:. Cheers!
