You should get there, I was honestly impressed....many of the wxhibits I never even took pictures of :hmm2:

TarJak 07-07-12 09:01 PM

So are they bringing the mossie back to flyable status or just sprucing her up as a static display?

Nice shots BTW.

Nice photos Jimbo, You remind me that I need to pay another visit to RAF Hendon and maybe Duxford too. Ill drag the nipper down there in a couple of years, like me he seems to have taken a liking to aviation from an early age (as well as trains and diggers) - it must be Genetic :haha:
Took him to London transport museum a few weeks ago and he bloody loved it.

Nice one :sunny:

Cherish them whilst they're young...it doesn't last forever :sunny:

LT Museum is nice but I preferred it before the refurb, more things to see. Still a nice place though, even more fun whenever I go with my Dad as he remembers working on the Routemaster on display there IIRC.

Some nice pics again Jim, I like the Bouncing bomb setup there.

Is that the forward fuselage of a photo-recon Canberra I see there too? Always had a weak spot for them, lovely birds. :yep:

Same here, back in the 80s when I was a kid. they had more stuff - espeically buses, now they just got a couple of Route Masters, a tram and alot of fluff.
Mind you, covent garden is only a tiny portion of their real collection, they got just about every type of tube train ever built stored up at their Depot in Acton. But i think its only open to the public once a year or so. never been though as im not particularly into trains now (loved them when I was a kid though, we had real trains back then, not these horrible plastic things you get now.) That said im still a bit saddened to see things like the old Metropolitain line stock get carted off to the breakers yard - even if they did smell of wee...

Oh, you're telling me, it's all plastic fantastic now. I miss the old slamdoor 3rd rail stock that used to rattle out of South London into Kent, and the old Northern and Central line stock. Now all we have left is youtube:
