Okay, I have nothing going on at work today, so guess what I'm going to work on:hmmm:.

3 ideas for divisions:
  • 2
  • 3 (the idea would be you must win your division for play-offs, plus one wild card.)
  • 4 must win division to make PO (mimic real life)
It seems everybody likes the flex position; which "extra spot would you prefer:
  • WR,TE
  • WR,TE,RB
  • WR,RB
  • keep "as is"

BTW, the league is full.:woot:

4 divisions would be cool.
But maybe if we kept 2 it would make things more even.
For the flex position i say either WR/TE WR/RB gets my vote.

I guess the 2 divisions thing seems fair. It makes it more fair as a playoff berth is based on record instead of where you've arbitrarily been placed. But if you did 4, I guess that's alright as well.

I really like the idea of a WR/RB flex position. It would help spread out the demand for both positions, as well as create some strategy in picking who to use as your flex each week. TE is meh...If you wanted to use it, I wouldn't object. But I would bet that more people use a RB or WR flex player instead of a TE so it becomes kind of a moot point.

4 divisions would mean only 3 teams per division, and the last time we did 4 divisions (4 teams per division because we had 16 teams) there ended up being two inactive managers in one division by dumb luck so it was just a "beat one team and you are in the playoffs situation". Rather anticlimactic.

Three divisions....am ok with that because I THINK this group will all be active but there is always that risk to consider.
So two divisions is what I prefer.

Flex-Suggestion:
RB\WR unless you want to drop the TE mandatory rule then RB\WR\TE
Reason:
Tight ends DO I think have the least amount of depth at position so RB\WR\TE is a pretty dynamic flex that leagues like, but it just replaces the TE position and doesn't add another roster spot. It DOES increase your flexibility a lot though when deciding who to play each week. RB\WR would add a roster spot, correct?

But I vote leave roster as is.

Did we ever settle on a decision on this?

mr chris 08-23-11 11:18 AM

Looking forward to the Draft.

nikimcbee 08-23-11 06:46 PM

Will update when I get off work. (today)

nikimcbee 08-23-11 06:51 PM

Before I totally forget.

Draft is same as last year. Please check/install necesary software from yahoo BEFORE the draft, not 10 before:doh:. Everything went smooth last year.

I'm leaning to keeping it as is, with maybe changing to the WR-TE flex combo w/ fries and a drink.

mookiemookie 08-23-11 11:36 PM

So we've changed it from TE to WR/TE? Isn't that going to put even more demand on the WR position than we already have with 3 WR's?

That is a downside to changing things. Still got a few days to change my mind. I tried doing a mock draft, to test stuff, and yahoo wasn't doing any atm:shifty:.

nikimcbee 08-23-11 11:48 PM

okay, let me think about this. I gotta re-read everybody's posts.:-?

mr chris 08-24-11 10:32 AM

Its tough being the Commissioner. Just be thankful the is no CBA to sort out.

RickC Sniper 08-24-11 01:14 PM

Why change what isn't broken?
