You can do it by yourself, see the picture:

http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/8365/bild001kr.jpg

Open scene.dat with S3D and set the value as you see in the picture ! Done !!!

Best regards,
Magic

Thanks Magic! Will include that in updates. :DL

For the golfball problem can you help with some experiments?

-Download experiment.zip:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/dp1psz...Experiment.zip

-Rollback your current SH-5 Water install
-Activate Experiment 3 and test
-Activate Experiment 2 and test
-Activate Experiment 1 and test
-Then you can rollback them all...

You can use the navigation from the naval academy as these mission load fastest.

Look forward to the results

Regards,

Rik

Ok. Rickster1 can you fiddle with the AA, AF and AA Mode settings in the ATI CCC?

Hi Rik !

I think I can test this evening, I see what I can do...!

@ All: For all, they have an nVidia Card and problems with the "Golfball-Sun": Please read this Post from rubini carefully, that helps: http://174.123.69.202/~subsimc/radio...50&postcount=1

I have a nvidia gtx 260 card.

But there isn`t a problem with the halo but with the size of the sun.

SeaWolf U-57 07-21-11 07:52 AM

When I had this problem I had to change all the sky settings
so this time I am using your water settings with my Sky settings
and it's great well done to you sir :salute:

So you do see the halo? Because the sun is small (0,15 whatever unit) the same size as in the previous version and can be increased. What I see from Seeadler's screenshot is that the halo is missing. Enlarger the sun will not help. Do you have the same problem? Can you upload a picture?

Hi SeaWolf. So you then use your own SkyColors_atl.dat, SkyColors_art.dat, SkyColors_med.dat files?

rik007 07-21-11 12:00 PM

All,

To make it more clear:

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77...184143_486.jpg
This a sun with Halo as it should be

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77...184550_316.jpg
This is the golfbal sun. In this case the SunHalo is missing. This is of course wrong.

I have the impression that people with the golfball sun do use Ati.

But did you get a SunHalo with the original SkyColors-*.dat files?

Hi rik !

I test your MOD (16km) and I must say: All works well, no problems, looks very nice !!!

With HiResFix enabled (1280x1024) I don´t have the Golfball Sun !
Without HiResFix at Standard Resolution I´ve the Golfball Sun too ! But this is the same with each Env.MOD (e.g. from makman). Always when HiResFix enabled, no Golfball Sun, without Fix > Golfball Sun !

I´ve an nVidia GTX260 Card !

So I play since years always with HiResFix and I would recommend to anyone do the same ! ;) With Fix enabled is another game-experience !

Best regards,
Magic

I changed a little bit the RGB values of the sun-halo in the dat files

My own 16km mod
http://s1.directupload.net/images/11...p/dxb4w5wk.png

this mod in 16km version, now the sun halo is slightly visible

used on nVidia GTX590 with latest drivers and factory settings

I see what you mean. Good news is that there is no real problem. It is indeed the SunHalo in the EnvColors files. The SunHalo is buggy. It doesnot respond to changes in settings as you would expect. That makes modding difficult.

I tuned the size of the halo in the game with what I saw in reality and I tried to create the effect that the sunlightlevel decreases when it disappeared behind the clouds. When that happens the halo color will be tuned down to the color specified in the environmentfiles. The other moment that the halocolor will appear is at sunset/rise.

I will check if I can use the alphachannel to get the clouds less transparent and I will look into a bigger sun(halo) as an optional mod. At the end this is matter of taste and what is possible.
