WWII: German VIIC/41 for its deep diving depth.

Modern: Type 212 for its sophistication and Kilo for its rugged simplicity that arguably still presents an effective tactical deterrent.

I like small boats.

You think a Kilo is small? :haha:

The Kilo is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) diesel submarine in the world. :03:

She is bigger than some nucs! :D

Also: 688i, Alfa, Typhoon, Type II, Oscar II, Victor III and Trafalgar.

You know that there is an out of comission Oberon class sub in Sassnitz/East Germany (Dunkeldeutschland) as a tourist attraction? I have a "Oberon/Sassnitz" baseball cap and T-shirt.

I don't wear these because I have my subsim baseball cap and muscle shirt.

If you want the Oberon baseball cap and T-shirt, send me your postal adress via pm. Could be yours.

Sorry..

:shifty:

But to be on topic:

I would probably say the WWII type VIIc and the more modern type 212.

A Kilo is relatively small than say US or Russian nuclear boats. But if they would make it smaller so it's more suitable to coastal area I'd like it more.

Even compared to a US SSN its still quite big. I have models at the same scale of both a 688(i) and Kilo on my desk and the Kilo is 2/3rds the size of the 688(i) and is almost the size of a Trafalgar SSN. :yep:

Aaah...it's quite bulbous indeed. Seems the Lada is much smaller then. It might replace my liking for the Kilo. As long as the Lada is not overly sophisticated. The beauty or appeal of Russian boats to me is their rugged simplicity.

Well I suppose my favourite is the 1xd2 type U-boat
