This was a tank used in the movie, "Band of Brothers." This was there the very first year I attended WW2 Weekend.

This P-40 was the first I have seen operate in person. The owner/pilot was the nicest gentleman I spoke with. We talked about the aircraft for a good 30 minutes. He enjoyed sharing his 'toy' with me. Said to say not but 8 months later he was at an airshow in NY. He went down in the Hudson. His body and plane never recovered.

Sad to say I did not see them run up the engines. It was looking like rain and did it rain. My daughters and I made it to our car just as it hit. She is a beautiful bomber.

She is very loud and lumbers down the runway. She used just about all of it in the takeoff run. It was great to see one actually fly. I have seen the Enola Gay at the Hazy museum. Not quite the same as she sit silently with the other aircraft. Not sure if flying her again is a good thing. I can say that all walks of life were taking plenty of pictures of her.

Steve,

I went through my pictures and this one my daughter had taken the same day. Much closer and can read more names/squadrons. Can see Pappy's wingman signature!
