Even though the clip says "from television and movies," I must admit to being disappointed that Pillar of Autumn/Halo/Covenant ships didn't make an appearance, if only because of their import in making that first Halo game the success that it - and as a result, the X-Box console - turned out to be.

Glad to see Red Dwarf and Sulaco made the list, and Nostromo, too... but neither of the latter would have mattered were it not for the Space Jockey's ship... and "cargo."

Hard to imagine the amount of thrust you'd need to overcome all that extra drag! :88)

I imagine most of them are built in orbit or in space. I know most of the Star Trek ships are:

I'm pretty sure they'd want to build the Death Star in space. :D

Any civilization with the technology to build any of these ships would have the technology to enter/exit an atmosphere without issue.

@AVGWarhawk:
It's supposed to be sci-fi ships, unless your trying to suggest something...

Yeah, just a shame that the thrust required to do so will likely devastate most of the surrounding countryside and kill everyone in the vicinity...

They took it apart, and brought it up a few pieces at a time. That's why it took four landings before they could drive it.

It was attached on the side part way underneath. It kinda unfolded out. Pretty cool actually :yeah:

Unless you watch that POS remake star trek movie that came out in 2009 then you would have seen the Enterprise being made in pieces on earth and "somehow" put in to orbit. :doh:

Impulse drives have a lot to answer for, with the whole Voyager landing on planets thing. Apparently the Defiant could do that too, but had no need for such a gimmick. The Enterprise D could too, but only when Deanna was driving.
