Legitimate - around 110,000 tons.
While testing - over 300,000. That's what happens when you script all of VonDos' superliners into a single convoy and go after it with a IXD2.

72k GRT. Couple of whale factory ships, 2 or 3 Empire-type freighters, HMS Fiji, HMS Nelson, and a Cyclops-type merchant with hundreds of masts.

I got the Fiji by raiding Scapa Flow. Once only! The very last thing any captain should go through is having the boat beach herself in plain sight of a coastal defence battery ... thank god the gunners were asleep.

The Cyclops is one of those boats thats just plain fun to sink; even if there's better targets (like Large Merchants, draw the line at warships though; they always get first priority) its fun and interesting to watch that thing sink with its shape being so acutely weird.

Scapa (as harbors go) is pretty easy to get in and out of; just takes up a lot of time (both game and real life) to get into a position where you can see if what/if anything is moored there. Good portion of the times you'll get at least a Aux Cruiser or BB there; other times when there's nothing but the ships at the actual harbor (troop transport, modern tanker, fiji is still a pretty good notch on the stock though). Seems that once you get inside and into the main area/harbor the defenses can get exteremely lax. At night have many time with total safety surafced to swap air and move external torpedoes; long as you go to one of the more remote areas and make sure any nearby ships are sunk have managed to stay surfaced all night in order to transfer external torpedoes.

weeee i never did patrol over 100,000 and now i've done 161.962t :arrgh!:

Patrol started badly - rough weather from Bay of Biscay to Madeira (i was on way to South Africa, Grid GR 89) and taken minor damages two times after air attacks. Then finally weather turned good and i bumped on Bogue Carrier - snuffed with two torpedoes and hit two escort destroyers. Dissappeared in the deep

Later, passing Freetown, sunked small convoy with Large Troop Ship (24,000t), and on course to South Africa found two more :)

Total tonnage: 161.962

War tonnage: 19.456
- Bogue Class 15.390
- V&W 1.188 x2
- J&K 1690

Merchant tonnage: 142.506
- Large Troop Ship 24.010 + 24.011 + 24.012
- Large Merchant 10.616 + 10.617 + 10.618
- Troop Ship 8.338
- Ore Carrier 8.083
- Empire-type Freighter 6.780
- Chatham-type Troop Ship 5.694
- Medium Cargo 5.085
- Small Merchant 2.396
- Passenger/Cargo 2.246

Spent all 24 torpedoes, all 105/45 Deck gun ammunition and almost all Flak gun ammunition :)

Curently in March, 1943 - with IXD2 :salute:
