I don't mind patriotism or nationalism - though I feel there is negative stigma attached to that word, of course depends who uses it - but in Scotland the brand of nationalism that has come about with the SNP is the blame England for anything.

I fear history is to blame for the burden of this chip, not just the SNP. :cool:

Saying that I can't complain as I live in one of the safest parts of the country and being in the oil industry have reasonably secure job prospects.

If you were descended from a Highlander and needed a reaaaally tenuous excuse to justify your Anglophobia, then maybe. Despite their excuses, the fact is that the majority of their grassroots support is based on plain old ugly Anglophobia. I can't think of another group in the UK which is more responsible for fostering bigotry and outright hatred. The only group that is worse are the Engurlanders, and even then they're largely a reaction to Welsh and Scottish nationalism.

If you really want to put outsiders off, give them some Black pudding:
Black pudding is usually a blend of onions, pork fat, oatmeal, flavourings - and blood (usually from a pig):D
