The Ewoks where fighting a guerilla war against an enemy with superior weapons and much more resources. 4 against 1 is only understandable in a situation like this!

There were no signs of an actual desire to eat them, this scene was all made for the reason of deterrence. Again: guerilla war.

Ah revisionism at it's best! Again, this is just propaganda. There was this guy called Gregor Lukas or something like this. He made many ugly propaganda films for the empire, despicing the Ewoks as inferior beings.
I heard he used vertically disadvantaged humans and put them into Ewok costumes and then filmed some barbarian acts. It is also possible thatn this Lukas guy used the evil twin brothers of the Ewoks, the Duloks to spread the propaganda of the eternal Ewok.
