It's theoretically possible, but which one?

Oberon 10-06-10 05:12 PM

I'm looking at a Pacific Grand Campaign here...got a few options. I'll play around with it.

You sure you want to play as the Japanese though or as the US?

Raptor1 10-06-10 05:21 PM

Depends on which campaign it is, probably...

Say...I have been googling

has anyone heard of SEOW?
Scorched Earth Online War, a IL2 Online campaign tool.

http://seow.sourceforge.net/

it's quite a download too..620Mb

One essential difference between SEOW and other IL-2 online wars is that there is no computer-generated movement or opposition.
That makes me wonder whether there are other such things with AI...

"...SEOW is a head-to-head, human-vs-human strategic contest in terms of planning..."

Raptor1 10-07-10 05:24 AM

That's what I said. :stare:

I was simply wondering if there similar things which do have an AI opponent. probably not, but who knows.

It could still theoretically work, though, one of us just has to be the traitor and plot out the enemy's operations...

Nice idea though, good for larger groups.

In regards to the campaign, I'd like to try and do some kind of grand campaign starting with perhaps a single mission at Pearl and then Guam onwards through till the defence of Okinawa at the end, or something like that.

My knowledge of the Pacific War is pretty abysmal, so I'm hoping that this will be a bit of a learning experience in both terms.

Pacific campaign sounds good. Shall we start tonight?

It's a start isn't it?! I mean, I don't know half the aircraft in the Pacific War...I know most of the USN and USAF planes but my knowledge of Japanese aircraft is limited to the Zero, Betty and Kate.
