Hmm... never understood anime, never been intrested in asian art...

X-japan is the world's leading Visual Kei band
the lead singer of xjapan based the band on the kiss model
they are even better sellouts than kiss, for like every single they released. they have released a live version, a piano version, a disco version, a symphonic version and a guitar version

Ah yeah...Japanese music, that's a can of worms waiting to be opened there.
Visual kei...always makes me think of an episode of Excel Saga.
Still I have my favourites and there are several Japanese songs on my MP3 player, Yoko Kanno is a particularly good artist, and of course we can't forget the legend that is Nobuo Uematsu. :yeah:

Japan went off the deep end with alot of things.

6 Japanese Subcultures That Are Insane (Even for Japan)

edit:

On a sarchastic note, it just occured to me that japanese cultural quirks pervading our video games is probably retribution for irradiating a couple of their cities.

Culture can be a greater weapon than any a-bomb ;)

But I only play a handful of RPGs so it's quiet possible I missed something there.
From what game are those screenshots?

That stuff gives RPG a bad rep. Actually, role-play games aren't all about fantasy crud. Now the term RPG has become synonymous with that.

Role play is a great pastime, but I could never get into the majic, monsters, and wizard stuff.

Looks more like the village pepole if you ask me.

I think you have it backwards. The very first RPG to be published was Dungeons & Dragons, in 1974. Traveller was the first Science Fiction RPG, in 1977. All others followed later.

I am still unsure if japan was nuked because of weirdness or if they are weird because of the nuking, we should nuke them again to find out.

I actually sat in on L'Arc En Ciel's first American appearance for about 20 minutes (it was actually part of a con's offerings, so it was "free"). God, did they ever suck!!! And I'm told they were about the 2nd biggest Japanese band at the time.
