Now that I can't explain, because I do know that once I've completed my 24 hours in my assigned patrol area, it shows my "mission" as "Complete" if I go into the Mission Orders screen. So if those areas work like the Atlantic, either you're not spending the required time in the designated area (whatever that is) or something else is going on. And I wouldn't think the designated area would be that hard to figure out.

Aha, the manual says that patrol grid "INDOZN" is the Indischer Ozean (Indian Ocean).

Aaaaand... yep. That's what I thought. From the GWX manual:

Quote:

Players must enable the GWX Indian Ocean Campaign Files Only option before starting a patrol from Penang, Jakarta, or any other Asian U-boat base if the player intends to end the patrol in Asian waters, as this option includes a workaround that allows players to win renown by patrolling their assigned Indian Ocean or Pacific Ocean patrol area. Players should disable this option just before starting a mission where they intend to travel to Europe.
And if you're playing in the 30th Flotilla in the Black Sea, you need to enable the GWX Black Sea Campaign Files Only option, for the same reasons. Otherwise it sounds like you don't get the workaround that makes the game recognize your completed assignment.

Both of these options are mods that come with your GWX install, and you can enable and disable them as needed using JSGME - which also comes with your GWX install.

Ok, I will play with that to see if I can get it to work, because I have been in the indian ocean for a long time both say incomplete.

Remember that you cannot change between these campaign area mods while you are on patrol. If you need to enable a different one then you have to cancel your current patrol. Changing such files must be done while still in port. So either you finish this patrol and accept you didn't fulfill those orders, or you go back to an earlier savegame being in port.

Thank you for clearing that up. Thank you all for your support.

To be more accurate, for example if you change between atlantic/mediteranean to asia bases, you first need to switch to the merged campaign while in port. Once you reach the new base and end your patrol there, then you can switch to the local area campaign mod. And start doing those regular patrols. I presume you started your campaign from Jakarta, then there wasn't any transit patrol involved.
