Aye, but it would mean the game is keeping track of and displaying all objects, all the time (planets, stars and stuff like nebulae). Considering that these things actually move around, that's a lot to keep track of. Planets and stars have gravity wells as well... I'm not sure those are involved in determining the orbits though, more likely orbits are pre-programmed and gravity only comes into effect when someone gets close enough.

I know a lot of this stuff has been done before, but with these graphics and all those features coming together... by far the most impressive game I've seen to date.

Will it be possible to land on planets ?

Yes, this is actually one of the main interests of the game. Expect a lot of missions on planets. However, the game will not feature non-vehicle gameplay like walking with an avatar on planets or inside buildings.
Dang, guess that shoots down the walking inside ships too. :hmmm:

They may add it later on. But ya I'm always a fan of walking in your ship. Especially with those long flights.. :DL

This does look very impressive, and very much like what I've always wanted in that kinda of game so far as breadth and the ability to explore.

Do hope they eventually had moving around in your ships and on planets and such, though. Seriously, where am I supposed to find the green alien women if I can't get out and look for them?

The issue is programming side it is but a one man team. And it already has flew past every imaginable deadline. And 2011 isnt looking good at this rate...

I will remain hopeful tho.
