From the sounds of it they'll be opening some valves pretty soon to test the pressure and all. Cross yer fingers and hope all you can.

Local news just came on, says the well has been successfully capped. Gotta wait thru the local stuff before they'll tell us more, though.

EDIT - They're running tests. Fingers crossed.

That's great news ... I hope it holds.

Hey steamwake let this thread go down the tube and start another one signifying the well is capped ... :yeah:

SteamWake 07-15-10 06:25 PM

Meh.. the others were doin just fine with that geeter :D

I'm like the others crossing my fingers we have been disapointed with this before.

The story I heard is that they closed a valve and "Oil is no longer flowing into the gulf." Though further tests had to be made wherein they have to open it again. Pressure differential tests.

To kinda make sure that if they cap it here it doesent pop out somewhere else. But what happened to the relief well?

They're still drilling away on those. Last I heard one was getting pretty close and the other wasn't too far behind.

If we had IR this would have been taken care of in about an hour.

TB4 was always my favourite and I wished it were in more episodes.

Yes, fingers crossed.
And would someone please take the B out of BP?:oops::oops:

Sorry, did not mean any offense... I was reminded of a sign I saw at the public swimming pool when I was a kid. It read something like:

WELCOME TO OUR OOL
NOTICE THERE IS NO P IN IT
PLEASE KEEP IT THAT WAY

And, I don't know how true this is, but it is rumored that if one pees in a public swimming pool, the water around them will turn blue.

I think it would be much more fun to throw a Tootsie bar in the pool, though. :D
